Are you ready to set sail on the happiest cruise that ever sailed ’round the world… in High Definition? Video: “it’s a small world”Compared to the video we’ve uploaded to YouTube, the version here on DLRP Magic!.com has an extra two minutes of footage at the end showing the exit path through the fabulous World Chorus post-show area. You can also download it for portable devices or in 720P HD for desktop and TVs. Look out for special separate videos of both those animated World Chorus scenes and the famous Clock Parade outside very soon, to complete our Small World adventure! Extra Hours and AP Blockouts – recent Calendar updatesSaturday, 27th February 2010The Calendar pages are always being updated with the latest Disneyland Paris planning information. Recent updates include Extra Magic Hours up to July 2010, Monthly Park Hours for the full month of March just ahead and Annual Passport Blockouts right up to the end of 2011. Meanwhile, the popular Season Dates page, which tries to chart dates for individual shows and parades have been given a bit of a tweaking. Disneyland Paris used to announce these dates far in advance both in brochures and online, but as the theme years take over it’s harder than ever to find out exact dates. Recently, Playhouse Disney closed for a whole week with no advance warning. So, to avoid any disappointment we’ve removed the “Every Day” tag and will simply leave these tabs as lists of shows and events that should be performing sometime during each month, with only exact start and end dates noted. This doesn’t so much apply to big events like Halloween and Christmas, the dates for which you can still find on the Further Ahead tab, but the smaller events like Mary Poppins and Sleeping Beauty which just come and go with no warning. Update: Big Thunder added to Closures & RefurbishmentsTuesday, 9th February 2010The official attraction closures schedule has been updated again, adding a refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain from 26th April to 7th May 2010. Closures & RefurbishmentsThe only other change is the disappearance of the month-long refurbishment of Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains (Snow White). Cancelled or a mistake? There’s also no mention of the Castle bridge, although that’s to be expected since Disneyland Paris rarely announce when park elements and structures are being refurbished, only attraction closures. UPDATE: Though this wasn’t announced anywhere in advance, the current park programme also advises that Playhouse Disney – Live on Stage! is closed from the 8th February with no end date stated. We’ve updated the Season Dates and Closures pages, but have no more info. Even more new and refreshed Planning pages!Wednesday, 3rd February 2010Since the last update our new Planning pages have tripled in number, with another 10 new and refreshed pages joining the dedicated section. New Princess and the Frog interview with animator Mark Henn!Saturday, 30th January 2010It’s a new year and a New Generation of characters are on the horizon. Most exciting of all, Princess Tiana from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog, which for most of us is now, finally hitting cinemas in less than a week’s time! So, our interviews deviate a little into the animation side of things. After all, those characters in the parks don’t just come from anywhere. When Jérémie Noyer got the chance to meet Tiana’s actual supervising animator Mark Henn to discuss the creation of a new Disney heroine, that’s something you don’t pass up… Don’t worry — no spoilers! This is the perfect lead-in for the film, which you’ll be first in line for when it opens this week, right? (3rd Feb in Netherlands, Belgium; 5th Feb in UK & Ireland) Read to the end for a sneaky bit of info about Disney’s next traditionally-animated feature! New Planning section replaces Your Visit and Practical GuidesThursday, 28th January 2010
When Memorabilia became a success and swanned off to its own website, it left a gaping hole in our top menu. Some pondering later, and the only sensible replacement seemed to be — Planning. For too long our practical guides have been hidden away as part of the Guidebook (or earlier, Resort Guides), despite being some of the most popular pages on the website. However, when that new Planning link first appeared at the top, it just linked through to the old pages. Now, we’ve taken the jump — Planning is now its own, separate section on DLRP Magic!, with a new design and rewritten guides starting to replace the dated old versions. Check out the new section hereYou can tell the pages that have already been refreshed by the yellow “New” tag on the new index page. Throughout this process, we’ll try to keep as many links working as possible. The pages have new addresses, but redirects are being put in place as each is completed, so your old links and bookmarks will still work. So far, take a look at our new pages for Park Tickets, Half Board Meal Plans, Disney’s Fastpass, Baby Switch and Disney Express Luggage Service. Update: March 2010 park hoursSaturday, 23rd January 2010Park opening times for the first two weeks of March are now available: Monthly Park Hours: March 2010If you’re planning a trip soon, be sure to check out our Special Offers pages, which summarise all the current official Disneyland Paris offers and discounts in a much simpler format. New: Disneyland Railroad – Grand Circle Tour HD videoThursday, 21st January 2010After our last, very brief, video clip of The Old Mill, we walk back into the British quarter of Fantasyland and hop aboard the Disneyland Railroad for a “grand circle tour of the magic kingdom”! Video: Disneyland Railroad – Grand Circle TourIf you ever want to show someone how beautiful and intricately designed Disneyland Paris is, this is the video to do it with. The moment the train bursts out the tunnel into Frontierland to the score of the Maginificent Seven is sensationally cinematic, surely one of the greatest “moments” in any Disney park. …It’s just a shame that the announcements over the original narration can’t be a bit more subtle. Update: February 2010 park hoursWednesday, 20th January 2010Park hours for the rest of February 2010 have now been published by Disneyland Paris: Monthly Park Hours: February 2010Where the hours used to be published at least 3 months in advance (and in days gone by, a full year in advance), they now appear to publish them only around 1.5 months ahead… Also note that, according to the latest programme, Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing and thus the two river boats, Mark Twain and Molly Brown, are currently closed — despite this refurbishment not appearing at all on the official website’s listing. Commemorating 5 years since the last flight to the moon!Tuesday, 19th January 2010Our growing Disneyland Paris history website Euro Souvenirland is marking another significant event in the resort’s history: When, on 16th January 2005, the last passengers boarded Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune for a trip following the great Jules Verne novel, From the Earth to the Moon. The attraction closed to become Space Mountain: Mission 2, but of course, it will never be lost — we can still remember it through memorabilia — lots of memorabilia! — a new item for every day this week: Space Mountain: De la Terre à la LuneRight now, we recommend checking out the Winter 1995 issue of The Disney Magazine, from which we’ve scanned an article all about the history, creation and innovation of the ride, the first roller coaster in the world to feature a completely synchronised on-board soundtrack. Tomorrow (Wednesday) be sure to come back for a stunning magazine covering the attraction’s spectacular grand opening events. You can also find these and other Space Mountain items collected together in the new Exhibitions area of the site, which now provides dedicated pages for each of these mini-seasons. New: The Old Mill video clipSaturday, 16th January 2010Unfortunately not a ride on Les Pirouettes du Vieux Moulin themselves, but a brief video clip of The Old Mill in Fantasyland finally turning once again — one of the many successes of 2009, our first video of 2010: Video: The Old MillComing shortly on the Video pages, our first HD video of Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade! Update: Attractions closures up to end of April 2010Wednesday, 13th January 2010The next round of Closures and Refurbishments have now been published, taking us to the end of April 2010. There are some unusually long closures pencilled in for the months ahead, including an apparent month-long closure of Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains (Snow White) and an usual (but very welcome) refurbishment of Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups. Closures & RefurbishmentsThe big news though is for Studio Tram Tour: Behind the Magic, which closes on 1st March for three whole months, right up to 31st May 2010. This is apparently due in part to the construction of Toy Story Playland, though the closure should also at long last see Catastrophe Canyon and the other worn-out scenes returned to a more respectable state. Sadly, no additions to the much-maligned attraction are planned. On the sixth day of Christmas Euro Souvenirland gave to me…Thursday, 31st December 2009…A fascinating look back at this point in Disneyland Paris history, exactly ten years ago, on the eve of a new Millennium! Hmm, not quite as catchy, but stay with us… After the successful Advent Calendar which presented 24 brand new memorabilia items, our new website Euro Souvenirland is now giving you a piece of history to open up for each of the 12 Days of Christmas, with particular focus now turning to the Millennium events of 1999-2000. Today for example, 31st December 2009, imagine you’re walking through the gates of Disneyland Paris a decade ago — picking up your commemorative 1999-2000 park guidemap… Find a new item each day at EuroSouvenirland.com and discuss them on our forum! | magicforum discussionsWarning: /home2/dlrptd/public_html/wp-content/cache/ is not writeable.
