Attraction closures have been updated for May 2010, with Dumbo amongst the list.

The classic Fantasyland ride will be closed from the 10th to 31st May according to the newly-published dates. It seems we say it with every closure, but this one really is much-needed. Hopefully a replacement for that faded circus canopy is on the way.

Closures & Refurbishments

Note that the Studio Tram Tour closure is now scheduled to officially end on 29th May. The official list also simply states that the two Storybook Land attractions (Casey Jr. and the canal boats) are closed in March, April and May. This matches with the sign placed at the entrance to the area which states it will reopen “in the Summer”.

At last, Disneyland Paris opening times for the whole of next month are now available!

Hours are generous throughout the month, with 9 and 10pm closing times at weekends for Disneyland Park. Of course, Walt Disney Studios Park never gets to have any fun beyond 7pm…

The Calendar pages are always being updated with the latest Disneyland Paris planning information. Recent updates include Extra Magic Hours up to July 2010, Monthly Park Hours for the full month of March just ahead and Annual Passport Blockouts right up to the end of 2011.

Meanwhile, the popular Season Dates page, which tries to chart dates for individual shows and parades have been given a bit of a tweaking. Disneyland Paris used to announce these dates far in advance both in brochures and online, but as the theme years take over it’s harder than ever to find out exact dates.

Recently, Playhouse Disney closed for a whole week with no advance warning. So, to avoid any disappointment we’ve removed the “Every Day” tag and will simply leave these tabs as lists of shows and events that should be performing sometime during each month, with only exact start and end dates noted.

This doesn’t so much apply to big events like Halloween and Christmas, the dates for which you can still find on the Further Ahead tab, but the smaller events like Mary Poppins and Sleeping Beauty which just come and go with no warning.

The official attraction closures schedule has been updated again, adding a refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain from 26th April to 7th May 2010.

Closures & Refurbishments

The only other change is the disappearance of the month-long refurbishment of Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains (Snow White). Cancelled or a mistake?

There’s also no mention of the Castle bridge, although that’s to be expected since Disneyland Paris rarely announce when park elements and structures are being refurbished, only attraction closures.

UPDATE: Though this wasn’t announced anywhere in advance, the current park programme also advises that Playhouse Disney – Live on Stage! is closed from the 8th February with no end date stated. We’ve updated the Season Dates and Closures pages, but have no more info.
