Bastille Day goes with a bang, without blunder

ImageIn pictures and video. If there’s one thing Disneyland can do well (when they’ve permission, at least), it’s big fireworks. Unfortunately, guests at the Bastille Day events of 2006 might not have been too sure, watching in confusion as none of the large shells burst into the sky as they should have done. For this 15th Anniversary year, though, luck hasn’t strayed from the side of the resort for one moment…

Following our look at all the Toon Studio publicty photos and officical Cars footage on Thursday, we can now take a ride from Crush’s outside “splash” to his encounters with Nemo and Squirt, from a brush with flourescent jellyfish to a reconstructed ride on the EAC…

Toon Studio Press Event: Animated Publicity

ImageOne of the most important aspects of a press event at Disneyland Resort Paris is the material the resort gives to its invited press and journalists. If they produce good quality work, they’re more likely to be given a mention in various media across Europe. With that in mind, we’re looking at the final fruits of the press event - the full set of publicity photos - and you can tell us how well they did…

Toon Studio Press Event: Inauguration Ceremony

ImageAnother year, another flashy attraction ‘inauguration’ ceremony… times at Disneyland Resort Paris have certainly changed! Whilst Tower of Terror may have loomed ahead with its size and stature, it was always the “Toons” project that seemed the most interesting from the 2005 announcement. Over two years on, it’s here, it’s complete, and it’s time to experience the grand opening…

Toon Studio: Opening day

ImageA whole 879 days since the project was announced in January 2005, opening day for Toon Studio arrived! 154 Years in the making, dude!

The official 15th Anniversary blog has spilled an ocean of new behind-the-scenes material showing the making of Walt Disney Studio Park’s most anticipated new attraction. Since Crush proclaimed he was “hundred and fifty, and still young, dude!” in May 2003’s Finding Nemo, the unique attraction has now technically been 154 years in the making! Rock on!

Crush in motion, first look at boarding area

Ahh, the wonders of the Disney “showbuilding”! Give an Imagineer four walls and a roof and they can truly do anything - like bring a Sydney fishing pier to Paris, for example. The drawback of a showbuilding? As many times as you ride Flying Carpets, your camera will never be capable of seeing through walls - though luckily, the press can…

The Toon Effect - More colour, more character

Times are changing at Walt Disney Studios Park. Toon Studio continues to impress and Toon Town makes a bold - and unexpected - entrance. We’ve read words, seen concepts and previewed the maps - now the finished reality is in sight. With the 15th launch complete, everything is now focused on one mission - giving this 15-year old resort a real second gate.
