Disneyland Resort Paris
Tuesday, 11th September 2007
The official website and advertising materials have now officially launched for the 2007 Halloween season at Disneyland Resort Paris, with the tagline “Halloween to the power of 15″ and a style which suggests the festival may return more to its Frontierland roots following several slightly confused years. The launch also includes the new festival logo and some photos to advertise the Disney Villains’ Halloween Showtime…

September 2007 is here already. Before we know it, the seasons of Halloween and Christmas will have taken over the Disneyland Resort Paris schedule. But before then, there’s still some late Summer magic and another great list of pins to wear your wallet out with. Once Upon a Dream Parade, Stitch Invasion, 15th Anniversary Retrospectives and an early Halloween spook all await this month…

When the Adventureland pages were updated on DLRP Magic! several weeks ago, charting the ‘Closed & Replaced’ features of the land wasn’t such a magical task. But, little did we all know, one of the most mythical and frequently missed former locations would suddenly present itself for a reopening later this year. However, to experience Agrabah Café, you’ll now need to be truly “one jump ahead”…

So we’re pretty much agreed that people don’t go to Disneyland to look at advertising. But we shouldn’t give movie tie-ins a bad name — some of them can turn out pretty tasty. Pixar’s latest triumph Ratatouille is right now infesting cinemas in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Austria, leaving a trail of advertising for Disneyland Resort Paris and a couple of special free screenings for Shareholders and AP Dream holders.

It’s the first day of a brand new month! What does that mean? A brand new list of brand new pins! Featured this month are Pixar’s brand new film Ratatouille, a Dreams of Power pin for the series celebrating the still-brand-new Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade, and a final brand new pin remembering the not-at-all-brand-new events of 1997. (Hopefully it features the 5th Anniversary rather than the Spice Girls…)

Missing items at Walt Disney Studios Park are being corrected at an exciting pace this year. Need an attraction with a morning “crush” to rival Big Thunder Mountain? Check. Need a ride for kids as popular as those in Fantasyland? Check. Need a big E-Ticket to get the crowds pouring? Almost-check. But what about a higher class restaurant, and a boutique in Toon Studio? They’ve begun filling those gaps too…

“Hot Dog!“, Mickey must be exclaiming. The financial results for the Third Quarter 2007 are good, aren’t they? No - they’re really good. For a resort which last year published a revenue increase of 4.5% to now be on track for an 11% increase in 2007 is something of a dream for Euro Disney SCA. So, what’s going on? And what could this boost in business mean for the future of Disneyland Resort Paris?

They will… they won’t… they did! The River Rogue Keelboats finally reopened to the public this weekend after spending more than seven years out of service. Now that’s magic. But, as the park crosses another box on its Frontierland “to do list”, it appears they’re already hard at work on the next project for the Far West… and this one might not be a simple re-opening.
Tuesday, 17th July 2007
It’s happening again. For two weeks running, the River Rogue Keelboats have not returned to the Rivers of the Far West as planned. Their announced 7th July grand re-opening came and went without a splash, and now the Coyote and Raccoon have missed the vital 14th July weekend. With the days of the Summer season melting away, is it too late again for the River Rogues?

You wouldn’t know it from the weather recently, but the Summer season is almost here! Another month, another list of must-have pin releases including 14th July pins, Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade series, Stitch invasion, EuroDisney years and more Pirates of the Caribbean. Not a vast amount of pins (only one featuring Stitch! shock!), but it seems they’re going for quality over quantity this month…

It’s a brand new brochure! Join us for an exclusive preview of the second official holiday guide for the 15th Anniversary year, featuring the launch of advertising for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the first mention of Stitch Encounter, the new 2008 resort map, the first words on the seasons, new options and special offers, a renamed Tinkerbell show, returns for all the 15th highlights and one important message - “There’s still time to join the party!”.

A special new lounge has been inaugurated by Disneyland Resort Paris as part of its commitment to the ‘Disney Wish Program’, an organisation which helps dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses. The Disney Wish Lounge provides a place for these guests to relax at the heart of Disneyland Park, and during the Toon Studio press weekend was inaugurated by Karl Holz and countless guests.

No no, this isn’t a double edition of Frontierland articles. We’re outside the parks now, at Disney Village, but still the word “ghosttown” is ringing in our heads… As the folks “behind the ears” continue to throw loose change at the Village with little care or thought, it’s easy to class the changes in three typically Western categories - the Good, the Bad and the downright Ugly.

Ye-haa! There’s fresh paint all over at Frontierland! Whilst Disneyland Resort Paris continue to use the “More dreams, more hugs, more wow!” tagline for the 15th Anniversary, for fans this year will no doubt also be remembered for “More refurbs, more details, more wow!”. The town of Thunder Mesa, fallen almost into ruin back when Jay Rasulo was sheriff, appears to have found itself a brand new lucky nugget…
