Disneyland Resort Paris

More Dreams, More Wow - 15th Teaser

An email newsletter has just this moment launched the online advertising campaign for the 15th Anniversary Celebration of Disneyland Resort Paris. The newsletter links to a special preview page on the forthcoming disneyland15.com, where a “3D” flash movie bursts onto the screen to present all the first phase features of the celebration. The place where dreams come true… is rolling its red carpet out for you!

Nature Villages project takes a step forward

The Euro Disney Group today announces an important step forward in its collaboration with Pierre & Vacances to create a unique “Nature Villages” resort development just South of the existing resort. Originally announced in 2003, the feasability of the project has been examined for the past three years to allow a non-binding letter of intent to today be signed by Euro Disney Associés SCA, Pierre & Vacances and French State.

Forget the parade, what about the napkins?

New attractions and new parades are all well and good, but there’s no doubt what really makes a Disney anniversary year a “year to be here” - at least for the fans. The decorations, the atmosphere, and all the assorted customised items you can collect during your visit to bring home as free souvenirs, available for one year only! Already, the 15th Anniversary branding has spread a long way across the resort…

Refurbishment round-up

Not to be outdone by its younger sibling, Disneyland Park has also joined the new craze of construction walls in the past weeks, as the park continues to be given extra spit and polish to get it neat ‘n’ pretty for the 15th Anniversary. More repainting and store refurbishments in Main Street, some welcome care for Plaza Gardens and a familiar stage still on Central Plaza…

Pin Trading February 2007 releases

5/02/2007: Updated with artworks
More Stitch, more pirates, more Jack Skellington - this can only be another month’s Pin Trading releases! But luckily there’s also a few new characters thrown into the mix - how about Mickey as a Jedi, or Minnie as Princess Leia, for example? A special Valentines pin, the next 15th Anniversary countdown pin and Stitch’s ongoing Walt Disney Studios invasion are all present and corrent, too.

Resurfacing the red carpet?

Five years on from its opening in 2002, the world of Walt Disney Studios Park is starting to show its age. Luckily, with CinéMagique just out of refurbishment and Flying Carpets Over Agrabah scheduled for an epic clean-up in March, they’re definitely on the case. Next up, at least as far as we can tell, is the crumbling searchlight flooring of the park entrance, always a sore point with refurb-watchers!

Prince Beckham of Disneyland

If there’s one thing Disney have always excelled at as far back as Steamboat Willie, it’s marketing and promotion. The Year of a Million Dreams “celebration” in the US seems to be entirely built around the concept - letting guests stay the night in Cinderella Castle is guaranteed press coverage. What about a world-famous footballer then, David Beckham no less, mounting a trusty steed to advertise Disney Parks?

Team Mickey’s fashion makeover

After teetering on the edge of a full fashion makeover and name change for almost five years, the Team Mickey store in Disney Village has finally bravely stepped out and into the world of high fashion… Disney Village style! As part of a current drive to bathe the row of stores in electric colours, the sport-themed exterior of the store has finally been given an update. “Extreme Makeover” this ‘aint.

Stitch Encounter: confirmed

The current Cast Member forum isn’t just giving details on the anniversary-centred events - it’s also giving some welcome confirmations about the future attractions. Most welcome: the confirmation of Stitch Encounter, the live CGI show attraction to replace the tour of Walt Disney Television Studios in early 2008.

Cast Member rendez-vous of dreams

The 15th Anniversary Celebration party has begun already for the resort’s Cast Members, with a special rendez-vous gathering bringing the confirmation of countless elements of the festivities. The candle ceremony, character parade, new name badges, a dedicated website, more Kids Free and a preview of the new parade theme song were amongst the early gifts.

Remember… Christmas Past?

With the lights fading on the park’s fifteenth Christmas season, it seems a good time to step back in time and remember what happened on Christmases past. The Lights of Winter, Mickey’s Nutcracker Parade, Sparkling Christmas Fireworks… do you remember them all?

Pin Trading January 2007 releases

Welcome to 2007! Happy new year! What better way to start this incredible year of magic than with a look at this month’s pin releases, featuring an extra-special pin already available in the stores, marking 100 days until the 15th Anniversary begins.

Remember… Le Noël de Mickey?

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house not a creature was stirring… not even a mouse! To celebrate Christmas Eve, Mickey and his friends welcome everyone, big and small alike, to their house, where magic and surprises await. Be sure to pay them a visit before Father Christmas arrives!

Remember… Rock ‘n’ Roll America?

Every night is Saturday night in Disney Village, it’s the all-American good time. What role do you see yourself playing tonight? City slicker, cowboy, movie star, pop star? Who will you be this evening? You will find a myriad of styles to awaken your imagination at Disney Village, under a starry vault of glittering lights…

Remember… 100 Years of Magic?

Tomorrow, 5th December 2006, marks 105 years since the birth of Walt Disney and the start of modern history’s most enduring phenomenon. And, with less than four months to go until the 15th anniversary of Disneyland Resort Paris, there seems no better time to start a new series presenting a little excerpt of magic from the resort’s history each week.
