ImageDisney Village’s 2008 makeover project continues to snowball, now including destroyed and rebuilt terraces alongside even more new trees — lit by colourful fibre optic lights! Is the starry sky’s replacement finally here?

18-dveateries-01sm.jpgTwo brand new food locations are rumoured to be appearing in Disney Village within the next year, kick-starting a deluge of speculation of guessing games as to the two big names involved. Any answers yet?

More planters, more progress for Disney Village

ImageFollowing the first article last week looking at Disney Village’s sudden change to a green and “humanised” environment, let’s get right up-to-date with all the latest on planters, paint and progress…

Village goes green with surprising changes for 2008

ImageDisney Village and plants go together in your mind like Pixar and bad films, but watch out — something truly mind-shattering has been happening to the once forever-hungover Village this year. It has — literally — turned over a new leaf.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at Disney Village

ImageNo no, this isn’t a double edition of Frontierland articles. We’re outside the parks now, at Disney Village, but still the word “ghosttown” is ringing in our heads… As the folks “behind the ears” continue to throw loose change at the Village with little care or thought, it’s easy to class the changes in three typically Western categories - the Good, the Bad and the downright Ugly.

Disney Village to host European Festival of Martial Arts 2008

ImageThose rumours (or rather aspirations) that the Formula-1 French Grand Prix could be heading to Disneyland Resort Paris continue to simmer away, but another (albeit less major) sporting event has been confirmed for the 2008 season. Long after the 15th Anniversary Celebration rolls up its red carpet, Disney Village is scheduled to host a new European Festival of Martial Arts - with streetmosphere and special events for regular guests.

Toon Studio: Countdown continues every day

ImageNo, that’s not some wildly inaccurate height restriction for Crush’s Coaster you see beside this item - it’s a countdown. As eager fans and guests arrived at Disneyland Resort Paris on 9th June for the official public inauguration of Toon Studio and its two new attractions, they thought the countdown was finally over… infact, it will continue each and every day this Summer!

Souvenirs prêt à vendre

(29/03/2007 - 20:30) What to do when you arrive at the resort bang on park closing? A spot of Disney shopping! We’ve already seen a selection of new merchandise in the parks, and now the boutiques of the resort join the party with their own selections of both generic and exceptional new merchandise.

PanoraMagique flies the 15

(29/03/2007 - 18:00) PanoraMagique, the iconic tethered balloon of Disney Village, is now flying the 15 higher than ever before - up to 100 metres into the air, of course! The giant gas-filled balloon was given an impressive new wrap-around banner last week to display not only four giant “15″ emblems but the new resort logo.

Disney Store loses 15 years

The Disney Store is next in line to have its classic 1990s touches stripped from its white, grey and pastel blue storefront. Whilst Disneyland Park celebrates 15 years and magic and looks as good as ever, Disney Village is still going to drastic measures to remove any hint of its ultra-hip ’90s history.

Team Mickey’s fashion makeover

After teetering on the edge of a full fashion makeover and name change for almost five years, the Team Mickey store in Disney Village has finally bravely stepped out and into the world of high fashion… Disney Village style! As part of a current drive to bathe the row of stores in electric colours, the sport-themed exterior of the store has finally been given an update. “Extreme Makeover” this ‘aint.

Refurbishment Roundup

The refurbishments of Disneyland will never be complete, as long as there is inclement weather left in that Parisian sky. This is a full round-up of what’s hot in the world of Disneyland’s iconic green construction fences, featuring Disneyland Hotel, the Wishing Well, Storybookland, Thunder Mesa, Front Lot and some rather depressed balloons.

Extra decoration, extra Cool

Balloons, boxes, bottles and banners - the past week has seen a variety of new details and decorations popping up in Disney Village and Disneyland Park. Whilst the balloon theme becomes more widespread at the Village, Discoveryland’s Cool Station has taken tips from its Adventureland cousin with some extra-cool small additions.

Xtra Jet returns to Disney Village

The jet skis may be gone for good at Moteurs… Action!, but this September they’ll be back for a sixth time at Disney Village, as Lake Disney once again hosts the “Xtra Jet Tour” on the 8th, 9th and 10th September.
