The second little book of big dreams

The official Autumn/Winter 2006/07 brochure for Disneyland Resort Paris is now available, with a design taken almost entirely from it’s Spring/Summer predecessor. Once again named “the little book and big dreams”, the brochure features the same front and back cover with an altered colour scheme. Inside, the brochure follows the same design albeit with updated and improved photos and texts.

Splashing out

Construction of Crush’s Coaster in Walt Disney Studios Park has reached another milestone this weekend, as the exterior track for this indoor spinning roller coaster has now been completed.

Discoveryland is ‘cool’ once again

Forget old Mr. Verne and his historical visionary friends, Discoveryland is on a mission to earn all the street cred in the universe. As if a Tiësto-approved Space Mountain and a circa-1995 Space Ranger weren’t enough, the confused land has now set a course to truly become “cool” once again. Welcome, then, a new addition to the range of temporary food retail outlets: Cool Station.

The Toon transformation is coming…

…on August 14th 2006, at least according to La Rouquine on Disney Central Plaza forum. This is the date currently set for the start of full-on work to transform the existing Animation Courtyard area into the lavish entrance area of the new Toon Studio. Work is expected to begin with a slew of construction fences throughout the land, most noticably around Art of Disney Animation.

‘Cars Race Rally’ revs up already!

Despite currently being nothing more than a massive hole covered in plastic sheeting, the marketing campaign for the new Toon Studio attraction ‘Cars Race Rally’ has most certainly already begun, as Disneyland Resort Paris attempt to capture as much audience as possible during the movie’s cinema release.

Popcorn fit for a princess?

Clearer suggestions for the use of the new ‘Maisonnette’ reported on Monday, next to Sir Mickey’s in Fantasyland, have been surfacing over the past few days across various forums.

3rd Quarter revenues show promise for Euro Disney SCA

Euro Disney SCA, parent company of Euro Disney Associés SCA (operator of Disneyland Resort Paris), today releases its 3rd Quarter revenues announcement for fiscal year 2006, and things are beginning to look up! After a poor first half due to the later Easter holiday period this year, the resort has clawed back profits to an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year.

New ‘Maisonnette’ appears in Fantasyland

There’s always something new to see in Disneyland Resort Paris - new details, new gardens, new characters out and about. They usually come a bit smaller than this latest addition to Disneyland Park, however, which appears to be a brand new small building (or “maisonnette”) in the distinct Fantasyland style.

Yellow terror, or white?

Despite not opening for almost another 18 months yet, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror has already received its first few coats of paint. Applied on the back of the tower, down one concrete column, the paint currently being used is an off-white colour applied on top of a deeper orange/yellow base coat, a kind of primer or plaster used to prepare the bare concrete surface of the tower for painting.

9-Eye continues her voyage “à travers le temps”

Eagle-eyed Disneyland Park guests may have noticed a new addition to the park’s latest attraction, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, last week, as an old friend returned to the park to act as a lasting memorial to the location’s previous Le Visionarium attraction.

At the end of the rainbow

The new Winnie the Pooh and Friends, Too show at Fantasy Festival Stage appears to have become a surprise new must-see attraction for 2006. A new storyline (an adventure to the end of the rainbow), musical numbers, stage scenery, lighting design and fibre optic effects combine to present an almost entirely brand new show that will surely be a bit hit this summer.

Soarin’ into the future

The rumours about the popular Soarin’ attraction from the US resorts making its way to paris grow ever stronger… The final article in Peter Bell’s three-park series about the past and also probable future of Walt Disney Studios Park is now available at MiceAge.com.

Putting Mickey on the map

Back in January of this year, the Mickey’s Trailer meet ‘n’ greet location at Walt Disney Studios Park was moved from its old parking space along the Animation Courtyard expansion fence to a new spot in Production Courtyard between CinéMagique and the Walt Disney Television Studios.

Relive “Une Aventure Magique” on DVD

In June 2005, fans first spotted filming taking place across the resort for a brand new souvenir DVD… Two weeks ago, the DVD was finally released! And now, thanks again to Raptor1982, here’s a large scan of the DVD sleeve:
