Xtra Jet returns to Disney Village

The jet skis may be gone for good at Moteurs… Action!, but this September they’ll be back for a sixth time at Disney Village, as Lake Disney once again hosts the “Xtra Jet Tour” on the 8th, 9th and 10th September.

Strikes and SOS signals

It hasn’t been a particular positive news day for the resort today, and it seems to be thanks mainly to one of the resort’s work unions, CFDT EuroDisney. The first piece of interesting news is that the park photographers (the Cast Members who snap guests with characters and relay the images live to the computer servers so they can be called up at the photo boutiques) have taken official strike action against the resort in the hope of receiving what they would believe to be a fairer salary, along with better working conditions and prospects for promotion

A pinker pink for Disneyland Hotel

Disneytheque.com posted a nice wide-angle photo of Disneyland Hotel by Olivier a couple of days ago, that brilliantly shows the latest progress with the hotel’s major refurbishment project. Just taking a quick glance at the hotel, the difference between old (left wing) and new (right wing) stands out immediately.

From CGI to reality!

Construction at Crush’s Coaster has advanced well this week, with the front of the attraction coming together at a steady pace now. The metal beams which were previously lying in front of the attraction have now been assembled and fixed in place on the front of the building. They will provide the bare structure and support for the coral and rocks which will decorate the front of the building and hide the entry and exit holes of the coaster track.

Long *Autumn* nights?

We’re used to long summer nights, but this year Disneyland Resort Paris appear to be introducing a brand new concept: long autumn nights. It has been a DLRP tradition almost since the resort’s opening for late-night park opening during the Summer months, giving guests more time to enjoy the attractions as the hot Summer days slowly turn to warm Summer nights, but it has been almost unheard of for the park to remain open until 10pm or 11pm during September and October. This year, though, the dream has come true!

Future production construction

It’s time for another action-packed construction update from the future productions at Studios! We’re currently 10 months away from the Toon Studio opening and around 15 months from Tower of Terror’s grand opening, so whilst things are definitely coming together, they’re coming together at quite a leisurely pace right now.

Welcome to the new, improved DLRP Today!

If you’re reading this, you’re looking at the brand new DLRP Today. I’ve powed the site up with Blogger so that posts can be searched more easily and automatically archived. Each post now gets its own page, and you can comment on stories in just a few clicks, so everyone can get involved.

Awaiting the enchanted tree

The construction fences surrounding Fantasyland’s new maisonette have been removed, and the new snack kiosk is open for business! With a highly-pitched red roof, wooden beam supports and functioning shutters, the themeing here is undeniably strong for such a small addition. Currently on sale at the market hut are drinks, snacks and a selection of pastries.

August 2006 Pin Trading Night announced

Pin traders, get this date in your diaries: The next Pin Trading Night event will take place on August 25th 2006 at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge Hotel. From 6pm to 9pm you’ll be able to meet fellow pin traders to trade, discover rarities and share Disney memories, in addition to picking up some special pins created just for this event.

Birthday wishes, Bill!

On this most special occasion, I’d like to send a shout out to someone very close to all of us who is officially celebrating their 1st birthday today. It was exactly 12 months ago to this day that the first signs of a new arrival became clear at Disney Studio 1 in Walt Disney Studios Park, and over one Summer night the day-to-day life of Front Lot was changed forever…

Tow me at once, the way you did once…

The 7.15pm royal procession of the Disney Princess Parade experienced some problems yesterday, as Sleeping Beauty’s float broke down as it rounded the corner onto Central Plaza. Aurora and Prince Phillip were forced to continue waving to the amused crowds as “Dancin’ (A Catchy Rhythm)” continued playing…

Pin Trading August 2006 releases

The pin releases for August 2006 have just been announced, along with a special pin event day at Walt Disney Studios Park…

Everything neat ‘n’ pretty?

The latest calendar of scheduled attraction closures has now been released through both the official website and the resort’s travel and press partners, giving a full listing of refurbishments from September 2006 right through to June 2007. With every effort being put into ensuring both parks look their absolute best in time for the 15th Anniversary year, there are no less than 29 upcoming attraction closures.
