The desert before the Cars & Crush takes shelter

From Toon Studio this weekend…
As the first real signs of an ochreous desert landscape arrive before the Cars themselves, Crush gets some extra shelter for his outdoor queue line.

Cut & paste terror continues

How do you build a trademark Disney attraction? It’s really just about all the right pieces of the puzzle coming together. And at Walt Disney Studios, contruction of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror literally is progressing piece-by-peice, as new details are cut and pasted onto the massive building each week…

Moteurs… Music!

As Casino Royale hits cinemas, WDS Fans reports some great news for fans of the Bond-inspired Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular at Walt Disney Studios Park. It appears that, after over four years, the original soundtrack of the show is finally available on CD! The only problem? You’ll need to jet out to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida to get your hands on it…

The Francilien and the first fifteen

So you want to get your hands on the very first 15th Anniversary item available to buy from Disneyland Resort Paris? That’ll be 89€ please, for the “new” Passeport Annuel Francilien. Luckily, unlike the old PA Proximity which this pass replaces, the new Francilien is available to everyone, regardless of where you live. Has desperation set in?

Pin Trading November 2006 releases

Update 19:08 GMT: Added artworks and “Minnie Disguise” series.
Yes yes, apologies that I’m a little late with this announcement, but then Disneyland themselves haven’t even found the time to post the pin releases online, and if you look at the newly relaunched official UK website there’s no Pin Trading pages at all! Anyway, I digress… the November pins!

Still an Art of Disney?

It was a landmark of Walt Disney Studios. It had a warm and varied scheme of colours. It was a tribute to the real Disney Animation headquarters. And then they painted it blue. But, once the initial alarm bells stop ringing and you take a look at the entire Toon Studio project, it actually looks pretty good. Or does it?

Selling the Celebration: #4

Whilst official 15th Anniversary news has been fairly quiet for a few weeks, the 2007 travel brochures are still popping up and each trying in their own way to sell the most vital year in the resort’s recent history. For our fourth brochure, we’re taking a look at Thomas Cook Signature, which attempts to sell Disneyland Resort Paris holidays in a slightly more modern and upmarket style…

The Christmas Parade 2006

Chante, C’est Noël - Tis that wonderful time of year! The Christmas Parade, Disneyland Park’s hugely popular parade overlay for the festive season, began on Monday, just one day after it finished its run as the Disney Villain Parade. DLRP Today was lucky enough to catch the very first performance of the 2006 season, in both pictures and video…

Euro Disney SCA reports positive Fiscal Year 2006

Euro Disney S.C.A., operating group of Disneyland Resort Paris, yesterday announced its annual results for fiscal year 2006, reporting positive news across the board including increased revenues, increased attendance and reduced net loss, paving the way, they hope, for a similarly successful 15th Anniversary year in 2007.

One week at Toon Studio (Part 2)

Continued from Part 1.
We hit the weekend and a thick fog rolls into the Studios. Then, with the French holiday week over, construction picks up pace and more progress is finally visable. Scaffolding comes down, rockwork is finished, but there’s still no sign of life at the placemaking areas…

One week at Toon Studio (Part 1)

Since Disneyland Resort Paris is usually only a 3 or 4 day resort destination, you usually only get a brief glimpse at the workings of the place. Stay for longer, and suddenly you start to get a feel of the rhythm and day-to-day running, not least at the busy construction site of Toon Studio. Multiple days, multiple angles - this is a week in the life of Toon Studio’s construction…

Disney’s Bonfire Spectacular 2006

To celebrate the very British tradition of Bonfire night, Lake Disney at Disney Village is currently being set ablaze by an enormous bonfire and spectacular fireworks, all choreographed to classic music from Disney’s Fantasia. The three performances each year attract thousands of extra guests from the UK and beyond, so what’s all the murmuring about?

Christmas returns to Main Street

Chante, c’est Noël! Not officially until Saturday, but already Main Street has begun its transformation into a festive Winter wonderland. Whilst the Enchanted Fairytale Illuminations have been in place for almost a month and Christmas has been taking centre stage in the boutiques for many weeks, the end of Disney’s Halloween festival on Sunday saw the full Christmas Season plans thrust into action - with a few changes along the way.

New Walt Disney Studios Park plan

The final traces of the resort’s old 2002-2003 graphic design are finally being painted over. As November begins, and following the introduction of the new Disneyland Park plan on the 7th October, the park plan for Walt Disney Studios Park has also now been updated to the same format with a separate Entertainment Programme.
