Candles, characters, decorations… and letters?

More lovely concept art from the AGM, again courtesy of DCP’s Mouetto, this time focusing both on the stage, candles and characters of Candlabration (Bougillumination) and on the banners due to line Main Street using the Christmas fairytale illuminations. Plus, there’s a new group of ten characters who need to be seen to be believed!

Just Like You Dreamed It?

The Euro Disney SCA Annual General Meeting for shareholders isn’t just about financial statistics and uncomfortable questions, oh no - they always manage to put on a good Disney show! In 2004 we had a musical Lion King preview, an outer-space preview for 2005 and a Buzz Lightyear extravaganza for 2006. How could they top all that for 2007, the 15th Anniversary year, then? Will a costume preview and a play of the new song “Just Like We Dreamed It” do?

Backstage Imagination and Wonderland

The official website for the 15th Anniversary of Disneyland Resort Paris is now live, and with it comes a brand new “Behind the Scenes” video! Whilst the video zips through the unique footage and commentary at lightning speed, I’ve managed (after a few attempts!) to capture stills of the most exciting shots, giving some of the most revealing and exciting images of the upcoming events to date… such as the construction of Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade!

Turtles, Cars and two fabulous dresses

We’ve seen visuals, we’ve seen concept art - and now, we can see the real thing. Disneyland Resort Paris has prepared some exciting new backstage photos ready to release to the press in the build-up to the launch of the 15th Anniversary Celebration, and they certainly know how to build some anticipation! Get a closer look at a turtle shell, a backstage look at a life-size Luigi and a brilliant glimpse at two dazzling new Princess dresses.

High School Musical to bop into the Studios

It’s the Start Of Something New… Our partner site WDSfans.com exclusively confirms that High School Musical is on its way to Walt Disney Studios Park. The inescapable Disney Channel Original Movie phenomenon will arrive in mid-June 2007 as a “travelling” Summer show performed on a movable stage, replacing the Starring Cruella De Vil streetmosphere show which has been presented for the past two Summer seasons.

Remember… Christmas Past?

With the lights fading on the park’s fifteenth Christmas season, it seems a good time to step back in time and remember what happened on Christmases past. The Lights of Winter, Mickey’s Nutcracker Parade, Sparkling Christmas Fireworks… do you remember them all?

The Nighttime Christmas Parade - with special guests

In Video. La Parade de Noël became La Parade de la Nuit for the final two weeks of Disney’s Christmas Season, thanks to the extended opening hours of Disneyland Park and the shortened hours of daylight. For the very first parade of 2007, the park marked the occasion with two special guests next to Father Christmas - the 2007 ambassadors of Disneyland Resort Paris.

Katy Harris: Once Upon a Dream director

Le Parisien’s insight into the people behind the upcoming 15th Anniversary Celebration continues with a “recontre avec” Katy Harris, the British director and choreographer of Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade, the new Disneyland Park parade. The article has once again been fully translated into English.

New Year’s Eve 2006/07

New Year’s Eve - the busiest day of the year at Disneyland Park, but the resort wasn’t given any favours when it came to the weather. As heavy showers and strong winds battered the park, the clock ticked down to midnight. Long queues, wet weather and a trimmed down fireworks show… could the magic break through to give a satisfactory soirée? With video.

Steve Sidwell to orchestrate the Dream

With the grand anniversary now less than 100 days away, it’s good to know Disneyland Resort Paris seem to have a lot of people on their side. For example, French daily newspaper Le Parisien is this week presenting a series of five articles looking at the people behind the anniversary magic. The first already reveals new secrets, such as the man orchestrating the music of Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade: Steve Sidwell.

Merlin l’Enchanteur breaks the spell

In 2001, the popular “Sword in the Stone” streetmosphere show of Fantasyland, running since 1992, was banished from the royal kingdom forever. Now, over 5 years later, Merlin has finally broken the spell and returns five times a day for a limited time only!

Merry Christmas!

With Christmas Day just moments away, I’d like to wish all of DLRP Today’s visitors and readers a very merry Christmas! Amongst family, amongst friends or amongst dreams of Disney, may your holidays be filled with magic!

Thanks to Photos Magiques for our Christmas photo.

Evacuating the set

More photos from Friday’s storm are now available at MagicForum.

WDS’ Disaster Movie shoot wraps up

It’s the Studios’ blockbuster new production, it’s getting everyone talking, it’s… The Storm Of December ‘06. We reported the situation on Friday with a run-through of events and damage following reported winds of up to 120km/h, and now there’s photos to prove it. It’s like Armageddon: Special Effects outdoors… without Michael Clark Duncan.

Remember… 100 Years of Magic?

Tomorrow, 5th December 2006, marks 105 years since the birth of Walt Disney and the start of modern history’s most enduring phenomenon. And, with less than four months to go until the 15th anniversary of Disneyland Resort Paris, there seems no better time to start a new series presenting a little excerpt of magic from the resort’s history each week.
