15th Anniversary Celebration

Candles, characters, decorations… and letters?

More lovely concept art from the AGM, again courtesy of DCP’s Mouetto, this time focusing both on the stage, candles and characters of Candlabration (Bougillumination) and on the banners due to line Main Street using the Christmas fairytale illuminations. Plus, there’s a new group of ten characters who need to be seen to be believed!

Buzz Lightyear makes the final 15

After the anniversary TV spot and new parade theme song, news from Wednesday’s Euro Disney SCA Annual General Meeting continues to pour in, shared once again by member Mouetto on Disney Central Plaza forum. Amongst the concept art for upcoming 15th Anniversary events and decorations presented at the meeting, it appears the Character Castle Makeover has just received an extra hero from Disney history, courtesy of Pixar…

Just Like You Dreamed It?

The Euro Disney SCA Annual General Meeting for shareholders isn’t just about financial statistics and uncomfortable questions, oh no - they always manage to put on a good Disney show! In 2004 we had a musical Lion King preview, an outer-space preview for 2005 and a Buzz Lightyear extravaganza for 2006. How could they top all that for 2007, the 15th Anniversary year, then? Will a costume preview and a play of the new song “Just Like We Dreamed It” do?

Selling the Celebration: TV Spot

Yesterday, Euro Disney SCA presented its Annual General Meeting for shareholders, rolling out a powerful red carpet theme to allow investors a glimpse at everything being prepared for the 15th Anniversary Celebration and giving a no holds barred look at its effect upon the resort. Amongst the previews - the brand new TV Spot for the celebration!

Backstage in Bruce’s submarine

The final surprise of Disneyland15.com’s “behind the scenes” anniversary preview is - aside from the mention of Tower of Terror so early - a very first look at the dramatic Sunken Submarine scene from Crush’s Coaster, which will bridge the gap between the “dark ride” and “coaster” sections to enclose the lift hill of this highly anticipated spinning coaster.

Backstage at the Race Rally

Next in the backstage preview video featured on the new Disneyland15.com is Cars Race Rally, introduced by DLP-Imagineering head Peter McGrath and then shown in concepts, models and real-life. The video gives us our very first look at the design of the 12 spinning cars, as well as some never-before-seen concept art for the très Art Deco entrance building.

Backstage Imagination and Wonderland

The official website for the 15th Anniversary of Disneyland Resort Paris is now live, and with it comes a brand new “Behind the Scenes” video! Whilst the video zips through the unique footage and commentary at lightning speed, I’ve managed (after a few attempts!) to capture stills of the most exciting shots, giving some of the most revealing and exciting images of the upcoming events to date… such as the construction of Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade!

Disneyland15.com rolls out its Red Carpet!

Disneyland Resort Paris has today unveiled its impressive 15th Anniversary Celebration website after several weeks of build-up. Built entirely in a Flash design, the impressive online home for the celebrations features videos, information, games and a competition, all hosted by a special live presenter. Take a look at the site for yourself here, or join us for a look at all the highlights…

Birthday bash means no more 9am

For the 15th Anniversary Celebration, we’re promised the “biggest Disney birthday bash ever”. Now, what comes with a big party? You’ve guessed it - a hangover! And judging by the latest Park Hours schedules, Disneyland Park is planning for more than a few late starts to compensate for the large-scale anniversary events - time to wave goodbye to that 9am start.

More Dreams, More Wow - 15th Teaser

An email newsletter has just this moment launched the online advertising campaign for the 15th Anniversary Celebration of Disneyland Resort Paris. The newsletter links to a special preview page on the forthcoming disneyland15.com, where a “3D” flash movie bursts onto the screen to present all the first phase features of the celebration. The place where dreams come true… is rolling its red carpet out for you!

From 1992 to 2007 - with a hint of Terror

When we first presented the 2007 Resort Map back in November, featuring an updated Walt Disney Studios Park illustration with the new Toon Studio attractions, it couldn’t help but be noticed that a little reserved spot right in the middle of the park was ready and waiting for another new addition. Now, an updated plan is already available, showing off not only the new Tower of Terror but the entire development of the resort since 1992.

Forget the parade, what about the napkins?

New attractions and new parades are all well and good, but there’s no doubt what really makes a Disney anniversary year a “year to be here” - at least for the fans. The decorations, the atmosphere, and all the assorted customised items you can collect during your visit to bring home as free souvenirs, available for one year only! Already, the 15th Anniversary branding has spread a long way across the resort…

Turtles, Cars and two fabulous dresses

We’ve seen visuals, we’ve seen concept art - and now, we can see the real thing. Disneyland Resort Paris has prepared some exciting new backstage photos ready to release to the press in the build-up to the launch of the 15th Anniversary Celebration, and they certainly know how to build some anticipation! Get a closer look at a turtle shell, a backstage look at a life-size Luigi and a brilliant glimpse at two dazzling new Princess dresses.

Your ticket to the dream

Back in the “good old days”, the ever-changing designs of the park passports was always a fun element of each visit to the resort, giving a sense of something new and different about each visit - and something nice to sell on eBay all these years later! With the introduction of a more modern ticket system in 2002, generic tickets became the norm for the past five years. Now, for the 15th Anniversary, they’re finally shaking it up again…

Prince Beckham of Disneyland

If there’s one thing Disney have always excelled at as far back as Steamboat Willie, it’s marketing and promotion. The Year of a Million Dreams “celebration” in the US seems to be entirely built around the concept - letting guests stay the night in Cinderella Castle is guaranteed press coverage. What about a world-famous footballer then, David Beckham no less, mounting a trusty steed to advertise Disney Parks?
