The start of a new season on 5th April brought another round of price increases to the range of Disneyland Resort Paris tickets, more than the usual single Euro already added both last April and last November. With up to £4 added, have they gone a Euro too far?

Unless you’ve been stuck in the frighteningly hard to navigate caves of Adventure Isle for the past few months, you’ll have seen the harsh warnings of slowing economies and recession splashed across every newspaper and news channel.

Meanwhile, at Disneyland Resort Paris, which has long operated under its own cloud of financial doom and gloom, this month has seen a record price increase for its park tickets, pushing some up as much as €3 — or, thanks to the weak British pound, £4 — in one fell swoop.

Here’s a comparison chart with the prices introduced last November, note that 4-day tickets and therefore special free day offer on 5-day tickets have actually been reduced by £2, suggesting the resort would like guests to be staying a little longer:

1-Day / 1-Park
Adults: £34 / €49 (Up £2 / €2) | Children: £29 / €41 (Up £2 / €2)

1 Day Hopper
Adults: £41 / €59 (Up £2 / €2) | Children: £36 / €51 (Up £3 / €2)

2 Day Hopper
Adults: £75 / €108 (Up £3 / €3) | Children: £64 / €92 (Up £3 / €3)

3 Day Hopper
Adults: £93 / €134 (Up £4 / €3) | Children: £79 / €114 (Up £3 / €3)

4 Day Hopper ‘Celebration’ Offer (4 days for 3)
Adults: £93 (Up £4 / €3) | Children: £79 (Up £3 / €3)

5 Day Hopper ‘Celebration’ Offer (5 days for 4)
Adults: £109 (DOWN £2) | Children: £93 (DOWN £1)

Of course, there’s the massive Tower of Terror and smaller Stitch Live! added onto the DLRP experience this year, not to mention these darker financial days likely meaning less merchandise income, but are the new prices fair?

Are the new 2008 ticket prices a Euro too far?

It’s worth pointing out that Annual Passports, on the other hand, remain at the same prices they’ve been for several years now, with the top ‘Dream’ passport just €40 more than a 5-day ticket.
