Disneyland Resort Paris
The biggest discussion of the week has undoubtedly been confirmation that the two parks of Disneyland Resort Paris are to go smoke-free as of April. What do you think? Will people really stick to these “designated smoking areas”, or does Mickey have a fight on his hands?
Hopefully there aren’t any fights backstage… but who exactly does run the resort? Javey74 is interested to know more about the Board of Directors at DLRP. If you know more or would like to know more yourself, take a look.
Meanwhile, the most important guy backstage — Karl Holz — has been given his own topic by Malin. Has the resort really improved as much as we think whilst he’s been in Paris? Share your thoughts on the leader of the club (that’s made for you and me…) here!
What is with Snow White at the end of the ride? lilcharlie doesn’t think having skin as white as snow is enough to save the looks of this particular animated figure…
zanderstarz brings some late news this Sunday about some new character “happenings” for Disneyland Park. The Mary Poppins event rumoured for several weeks is confirmed, as well as a Sleeping Beauty event for the Castle Courtyard!
The once-unloved Walt Disney Studios Park is now jam-packed with crowds! People are very superficial, aren’t they? Ignoring the poor thing all these years and only becoming friends when it gets some nice new attractions… Owain stars this topic that is sure to grow as Summer nears and the small floorspace of the park throws up a whole new set of problems…
Finally, “live” from the parks, many of our magicforum members share their own thoughts about Stitch Live! from the AP and public previews which are taking place almost every day now. Drop by to get a preview, or share your own experience!
World of Disney
Let’s take a cruise around the world for our weekly international news update now. Wait, you already do that quite often? Maybe the rumoured International Disney theme park passes will be for you? Remco K brings news on the possibility of an annual pass for all five Disney resorts.
At Disney’s California Adventure, the new Pixar Play Parade has finally premiered, a glorious piece of news for both Pixar and alliteration fans. The Butlin Boy shares a link to a full photo report, whilst Malin shares two videos of the full parade. What do you think? Is it a good move for the still-struggling park, and — most importantly — better than the Block Party Bash they just sent to Florida?
The long-awaited release of the WALL-E theatrical trailer, posted by Soap, makes this week even better for Pixar fans. With a dark atmosphere and surprisingly dystopian view of a future Earth where all humans are too fat to walk and their planet too dirty to inhabit, this looks to be stunning and dramatic shift away from the colourful buddy comedies we’re used to.
…Which might provide a good lead-in to an even more dramatic shift from the Pixar we’ve known for the past 13 years, as news breaks that Brad Bird’s next directing job will be live-action — but still very much a Pixar feature. ‘1906′ will be set against the backdrop of San Francisco’s Great Earthquake of 1906 and the fire which followed. But how will a live-action feature from the Pixar animation studio work, and what could it mean for the future? Discuss it all here.
Blue Lagoon
The most important topic from this week comes from javey74, who is gallantly continuing magicforum’s efforts to get a little more of Disneyland Resort Paris’ music released on CD. Would you like to own the Disney mix of the “Flying” 15th Anniversary theme, the Disney Characters Express song, the real music from attractions across both parks? Please tick the box and post your thoughts!
Which part are you meant to eat first again? We’ve heard them in US film and television for years, as if some kind of sacred bread, and now they’ve finally hit the UK. Owain asks ‘Who likes Oreos?’. Do you?
