magicforum mélange 25.03.2007

Catch up with all the latest news, discussion and DLRP opinion from the forums, including news and features not seen on DLRP Today. This week: 15th Anniversary decorations continue, Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade debuts, Disneyland Secrets are revealed and the castle’s feathered resident is officially christened “Zazu”…

As the days before the 15th continue to dwindle and the countdown gets into single figures, the forum has had another hectic week of news, discussion and opinion. From the completion of the castle makeover to the debut of Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade, it’s all go-go-go in the many lands of MagicForum…

The Resort

Preparing for his next visit, mstaft asks for tips about hidden secrets throughout the parks and certainly isn’t left disappointed - from Adventureland’s Le Rocher-Qui-Bascule and Maleficent’s red-eyed raven to Main Street’s dentist and the Thunder Mesa express pathway, Lordofthemightybeasts in particular is a fountain of DLRP secrets.

With just one week to go before “The Year to Live Your Dream” begins, have you voted in the poll for your most anticipated 15th Anniversary event yet? fray101 votes for the new parade this week, which is still losing out to the Tower of Terror after 49 votes.

Returning from a week in the magic, penfold12 felt overwhelmed by the resort’s returns to former glory, and asks “Is it just me, or are things getting back to the way they were?”

Bringing up bad memories of the takeover rumours of last year, Aaron posts an article from a Formula 1 Grand Prix website suggesting Disneyland Resort Paris as a good location for a new Dubai-style F1-themepark. Now we really have heard everything…

Martha86 asks about the wake up calls at Disney Hotels - specifically, which Disney star gets the unlucky task of phoning around each morning. Is it always Goofy?

Disneyland Park

The Character Castle Makeover is completed, and as everyone shares their views on perhaps Disney’s most popular Castle overlay ever, Masamune suggests the bird nesting at the very top be named “Zazu”. Well - Disney’s most profitable animated feature should be somewhere on there!

On the afternoon of the final performance of The Wonderful World Of Disney Parade, needmagic gets the ball rolling on some final fond farewells to the grandaddy of all Disney parades, whilst Poppy the Monkey shares his experience (and some photos) of the final performance and its huge, extra cast.

With the final goodbyes for the WWODP still coming in, it’s out with the old and in with the new, as raptor1982 of Photos Magiques presents the very first photos of Paris’ brand new parade… and the forum reacts, in true fan fashion. (And don’t worry about spoilers - there are only a couple of small photos posted in the actual topic so far)

Walt Disney Studios Park

Just moments before the week is out, Maarten posts some photos by Scrooge on Disney Magic Interactive showing the interesting new style of the Toon Studio flooring - grey tiles and black tarmac, is this final? raptor1982 shared news earlier in the week that the floor would be blue, so it appears not. Also this week, the number 3 on Animagique is repainted blue like Studio 5’s - but not replaced with a Walt Disney Script version.

Is our “clone” Tower of Terror a bad thing for Disneyland Resort Paris? Shouldn’t we get something more extravagant like Tokyo’s gothic New York style? Join Quark and davewasbaloo in the discussion.

penfold12 asks the question every fan stumbles upon at some time in their life - just where is Disney Studio 4?

Trip Reports & Planning

A trip report and countless new photos from the magic by Dark_Prince.

paulm asks for members’ opinion on the seven Disney Hotels at the resort. Which do you feel is the best you’ve stayed at?

Visiting in June, mstaft will have only four hours at Walt Disney Studios Park! Which are the must-see attractions, if you’ve already experienced Disney-MGM Studios in Florida?

The resort’s little-mentioned 27-hole golf course - davewasbaloo knows it’s expensive, but is it worth it?

Merchandise & Pin Trading

The boutiques are filled with anniversary merchandise, so which pieces are you going to grab? Maybe you should be careful with the mugs, the decal on Dark_Prince’s is already rubbing away!

More members share their own Disney merchandise collections, with lots of photos.

Imagineering

Sigton asks what the resort’s 3rd gate could be, before discussion moves to if, where and when the project could actually happen.

International Disney Parks

The pirates are about to rampage over Walt’s beloved Tom Sawyer theme - a desperate fix for a tired area or yet another step in Pirates overkill? The overlay from a Paris fans’ point of view.

CinéMagique

The much-anticipated new trailer for the third in the Pirates trilogy is here! See frozen ghost ships, giant waterfalls, whirlpool battles and some brand new quips from “witty Jack” (both the monkey and the pirate) and then share your opinion on the forum!
