In 2001, the popular “Sword in the Stone” streetmosphere show of Fantasyland, running since 1992, was banished from the royal kingdom forever. Now, over 5 years later, Merlin has finally broken the spell and returns five times a day for a limited time only!

The placemaking project at Animation Courtyard took a surprising step forward just before Christmas, with the construction fences around the new Art of Disney Animation trees removed in anticipation of large seasonal crowds. Why surprising? Because the new planting area still features no grass and no barrier after all these weeks - hardly an art of Disney.

With Christmas Day just moments away, I’d like to wish all of DLRP Today’s visitors and readers a very merry Christmas! Amongst family, amongst friends or amongst dreams of Disney, may your holidays be filled with magic!
Thanks to Photos Magiques for our Christmas photo.

Ho ho h-oh yes, there’s no end to the Christmas puns! At The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Walt Disney Studios, it has been another landmark fortnight of construction progress, that’s seen weathering/dirt added, scaffolding removed, art deco added, the crane removed, and finally… elevator doors added!

Dude, Crush has totally gone Australian with this Christmas thing - there’s not a fir tree in sight, but they’ve just added even more palms! Scaffolding on the rockwork is gone, paths are laid out and the queue line is filled with plants… it’s actually beginning to look a lot like a real Disney attraction.

Whilst many of us are surely Rocking Around the Christmas Tree by now, there’s only one kind of rock on the mind of the scenery artists of Cars Race Rally. In a similar style to Tower of Terror’s rapid construction spurt 12 months ago, December has been incredibly profitable for Lightning McQueen’s new home in Paris.

It’s the Studios’ blockbuster new production, it’s getting everyone talking, it’s… The Storm Of December ‘06. We reported the situation on Friday with a run-through of events and damage following reported winds of up to 120km/h, and now there’s photos to prove it. It’s like Armageddon: Special Effects outdoors… without Michael Clark Duncan.

It has been a stormy day over at Disneyland Resort Paris, and for once it’s not about the finances. Following Thursday’s remarkable news of a mini tornado ripping through several North-West London streets, it seems the severe weather hopped across the channel for a bit of impromptu Disney magic earlier today, leading to a full closure of Walt Disney Studios.

You might not have noticed any massive changes, but I’ve just completed an update and upgrade of DLRP Today to the latest version of Blogger Beta! Now you’re probably thinking “that’s not very interesting”, and you’re absolutely right - BUT this new version does have one particularly good feature for us: labels.

Here is the full listing of December 2006’s Pin Trading releases - it looks set to be a busy month! Along with Christmas and New Year pins, there’s a jumbo Nightmare Before Stitch pin, three 4-pin sets, Tinkerbell pins, family pins, gala Mickey & Minnie pins, a new starter kit, the long-awaited Sorcerer Mickey 2007 edition and the next Stitch Invasion WDS pin…

The creative text promised us we’d “hang loose with Nemo and Crush” at Crush’s Coaster, and now you can see Crush doing exactly that, as the first tests took place today for the huge poster mural to cover the front of the attraction’s showbuilding. No hurling on the mural, dude, ok? Just hung it…
