We always eat here on our last day before driving back to the UK & find this place exactly what we need for a late afternoon meal. Plenty of room & staff ok & friendly, food here is always plentiful & hot & enough choice to suit most people. Reasobaly priced for what you get & quite clean, can get really busy though & we always book up before we arrive here. 9 out of 10
My second buffet restaurant in DLRP (after Agrabah Café). A quiet tusday afternoon around 3 o’clock. Only half the restaurant is occupied but that half is quite full. Live music Main Street Style Band plays Disney Tunes.
It’s not a fancy food type restaurant , more a like at home food one (at least for a belgian). Entrée is all kind of fresh salads… Main Course is a choice of meat, shrimp, pizza, lasagna, nuggets, pasta …and a lot of other things to choose from. Dessert is a large choice of pies, pancakes, fruits… I ate Strawberry and Orange Bavarois, Tiramisu plus 3 pancakes with chocolate topping … Yumm!
Very enjoyable restaurant !!
In my personal opinion I particularly have mixed feelings about this buffet service. The waiting staff are usually very good but sometimes they let themselves down which I hate to say about Disney Cast Members.
If you are a vegetarian then I wouldn’t recommend Plaza Gardens especially if you don’t eat both meat and sea food as things aren’t labelled
I enjoyed this restaurant, a good selection of food and large spacey areas. However rest of the family werent that impressed. If you can eat a lot its worth the money but if you arent that hungry its cheaper to eat elsewhere.
Plaza Gardens……….
Now this is a place to be very well presented and the atmosphere so warm and welcoming and the food is just out of this world worth 20euros when we were there last year…..
I`m not one for breakfast but eating at Plaza Gardens at Lunch Time sets you off for the rest of the day and evening, as you can just keep going back for more…
My daughter shocked me last year September 2007 when we tried it for the first time god could she pack the food away I lost count how many times she went back for 1st 2nds 3rds etc and she`s like a bean pole so where she stored it baffles me….
So yes I would 100% recommend Plaza Gardens, It normally opens around 11.30am but if you ain`t been your missing out……
We`ll be back there again this year September 2008……
We ate the buffet here on one of the parks magic hour nights in September 2007. The selection of food was very good, i had a weird selection but thats the good thing about buffets. The food would suit every taste, although alot of it was child orientated, such as mickey shaped pizza, chicken nuggets etc, but the lasagne was excellent and so were the pasta dishes. Even the fries were nice and all the food was hot. There was also an excellent choice of desserts, tho by that point i could barely eat anymore! Definately a good choice, especially for families.
Id recommend the Plaza to everyone. The downside was the drinks were expensive and the service a little slow.
We have made Plaza Gardens one of our preferred lunch venues on our visits to the Park and have done so since we first ate there several visits ago.
We have eaten “breakfast in the Park” at the Plaza Gardens and enjoyed being able to walk straight into the parks afterwards. We were well catered for and there was plenty of room to sit down.
In February 2008, we ate lunch here as usual, having booked it the day before so we had no need to queue, and were seated quickly in a quiet area. When we last visited in February 2007, it was a “sit down” service restaurant, howver this has now changed.
The buffet style is ideal for those picky eaters (not that I am) who will not try something new or for fussy children who like nothing more than nuggets or pasta. These are all available.
There is a wide choice and plenty of it. A starter, main course and dessert, fresh fruit plus a bottle of water included, make this restaurant a “good value” venue. (We always pay, as we do not use vouchers etc, as we go independent and make our own arrangements – we have found this easier on the purse!).
The staff do put on a bit of a show for “birthday today” guests and I often wonder exactly how many children are actually having a birthday on the day!! A clever ploy by parents perhaps to gain a little more magic. I have never expereinced the Character tea so I cannot comment.
There is also live music from a jazz band playing medleys of Disney tunes at lunch times.
Despite the negative reviews by some reviewers, I rate the Plaza Gardens as one of the best places to eat at lunch time. It does require some planning to book your table but taking “pot-luck” is something I have learnt not to do in Disneyland.
We went to Plaza Gardens in Jan 2008 , we had the half board vouchers which said on them that you could use them at this restaurant and so made a booking at City Hall for Lunch time , checking at the same time that the vouchers were valid. We went to the restaurant when it opened to be told that they no longer accepted the vouchers before 1600 hours. The staff member on the door was very rude and argumentative but we decided to return and have our meal here at 1600.
The restaurant provides a buffet style service and the food was good , however drinks were very expensive and the service was poor. A further point to note was that at the same time as our meal there was a character tea taking place in the restaurant. It was very difficult to explain to a three year old that they could not go and see the characters that were just accross the room, and they were not going to come and see her. Obviously, we had not paid for the characters and therefore understood the situation but try explaining that to a three year old.
The character tea party was really good, it wasn’t busy and we had plenty of choice.
The characters came round and there was time for photos, etc. It was around £10 per person which was OK. I would recommend to do it at least once.
The only part of our disney experience that we wouldnt recommend.
We booked the character tea at 3pm on our last day and it was awful. Very long queues for the buffet which was very limited and not much left at all. The place was extremely crowded meaning that characters could not get around to the tables. We watched people having the “birthday tea” and felt that this was really impersonal and hurried, people looked visibly disappointed.
Service was poor and we were unable to get hot drinks.
After many faultless experiences this holiday we left this restaurant hungry and disappinted.
We went to plaza gardens in september 2007 and thought that it was fantastic. There was a brilliant variety of dishes which was all cooked fresh. I highly recommend the potato gratin and the beef stew. The variety of puddings was fantastic. It was a good clean resturant and the service was spot on. We enjoyed it that much we went again the next day. We will definitely be going back to plaza gardens when we go next year.
We went there in October 2007 for dinner and were pretty much surprised by the variety of food and the atmosphere since we did not hear that many good things about the restaurant and the food.
But there’s definitely something for everyone and the price is absolutely ok if you see what you get – the quality of the food was from poor (the standard Pizza you get everywhere in the park) over average (fries) to excellent (some kind of scotch fillet – this was the daily offer).
The only negative thing was that the floor was a little dirty but I think that’s normal if you see what’s going on there and you can’t expect the CMs to run around the whole day and clean … and clean … and clean. It made no difference to the atmosphere and the food – so we just ignored it ;-) We will go back there on our next trip!
We’ve been there in May of 2007, we had booked the character tea time at 3pm. I won’t advise it to anybody to go there, it was very disappointing for the price! It was very noisy, characters were busy and ignored us, they were the reason we had booked there! We had waited at our table for the characters to come, but they didn’t came, then we went to the buffet and we saw almost empty plates, there were only a few desserst left! We had complainted about the food and the characters at the waiter and Eeyore visited at last our table. The food and the waiter were poor for the price. We have visited many restaurants in Disneyland Paris but this time we were very disappointed, it was the worst of all. We didn’t eat at all and went to an other restaurant.
I thought this was excellent value for money. When we visited on our last day during the Christmas season, we were waiting to go back on the Eurostar and didn’t want fast food. For €20, we got an all you can eat buffet which was really fresh and varied. It was very similar to all of the other buffet restaurants within the resort but had a lot more things for children (and adults!) such as chicken nuggets, pizza, bolognese, pasta and chicken pieces. The starters were all salad/pasta/cheese/bread oriented and the desserts were all little pieces of cake, jelly, pies, pastries and sweets.
There are characters in here but we were seated in the non-character section. I don’t know why this was but it was quiet when we went and the buffet was reasonably quiet – which meant no crazy pushing, shoving and queuing. I like this restaurant – it’s location is great and the food is what you would expect for this fair price.
Disappointing for the price. Wasn’t satisfied with the selection of food on offer and would not recommend it. The waiter we had was poor, with the service not being great for drinks. On the plus side, a lot of the deserts were very good.
