This has always been one of our favourite place to eat in the park on each visit to DLP but I have to admit to being a little disappointed on our visit this week. The food didn’t seem quite as good and the prices seemed to have shot up.

The half barbecue chicken I always have now comes with wedges instead of fries which was fine but then, inexplicably, there was a horrible sausage (veal?) unnecessarily in there as well.

My husband had the texan platter, we had a pudding each – key lime pie and pecan pie (both very nice) and a beer each as one of the set menus and it came to 32 euros.

Cowboy Cookout is a great place, especially of you visit during the fall, at Halloween time or so..

The decor is nice and it is a cosy place…Sometimes there is some live music, which really adds tot the atmosphere.

My sister and I like to just sit down and have a drink and some churros here, but lunch is great too..Burgers taste nice here.

The only drawback here is that it can be really busy and you have to wait a long time in line.

Great themeing but long waiting times especially when the Tarzan show is over. I was disappointed that they don’t carry the chili con carne anymore. I know they have the chili burger but why do they have to but everything between burger buns?

Nice restaurant. The western theme is great in winter, cause there is even a cozy fireplace inside. The food choice is great, chicken with barbecue sauce, burgers, baked potato, soup, spare ribs and so on. Service is good too.

If you really hungry and want to choose one of the “fastfood” options this is the best place! A half chicken or a huge portion of pork rib in a meal will make you happy and full. The food is delicious and not expensive. During the lunch hours you can listen to the “Cowboy band”.
Yes, if the park is busy and you going there during lunch time you have to wait – but where not? My favourite counter service restaurant in the park. I can recommend for everyone! At last a restaurant where you can have other than burger!!! ( I visited this place in September 2007)

I think the initial 2 reviews in this thread are spot on. Nice location and theming (the fires inside that you can sit around during the cold months are a particularly nice touch), but very average fast food and frequently poor service. Come on DLRP, sort your restaurants out!

Have mixed feelings about this restaurant – generally as good as the person who is serving you! They seem to have changed the menu now so it is more generic, but they used to offer great (and huge) baked potatoes and Western dishes, whereas now it seems to have gone for the quick ‘n’ easy burgers ‘n’ fries solution.

Most of the time the food in here is lukewarm at best, my advice is do not put up with this, take it back (go to the side of queue so you are seen and do not have to queue again) and complain.

Food can be quite good, but these days I would probably try Au Chalet before going here, especially because it is a little more out the way.

Best place in the Park if you like a fast food burger. A few of the other meals are good also and of a good size. Can become very full if you arrive while the “Tarzan” show is letting out as the crowd goes right past the door.

I visited during Halloween 2007 when the park was incredibly busy, so I left lunch until 14.30. This was a good move with only three people in front of me,however it took nearly ten minutes to get served as everyone was paying by credit card which takes much longer to authorize in France than the UK where I live, cheques take even longer!

The atmosphere was great with a three piece country and western band playing and the food is amongst the best of DLRP fast food outlets and because of its location, tucked away in Frontierland,is not usually overly busy. My dining tip, try the half a barbecued chicken and potato wedges, more chicken than most of us could eat and in November 2007 only 9 euros for chicken, potato and drink. There is also a large outdoor eating area for good weather days

I think this place is great for lunch. The Magic Cheesburgers are delicious and not too badly priced. You often find a few characters hidden away to the left of the place outside which is great as there are not too many people crowded round. Friendly staff too.

I have only visited here once, in June 2006 during the heatwave. We queued for about 45 minutes to get served and the staff were very rude. (To be fair, this is understandable as it was very busy, terribly hot and everyone was getting impatient) The food is as it says ‘barbeque’ style, with things like ribs, bbq chicken wings and potato wedges. There wasn’t a band on when we were there, just lots of screaming children and fed-up parents. I probably wouldn’t go here again because after all, it is just fast food but it’s not bad if you’re after something cheap that doesn’t taste that bad.

We love it here as their chicken in barbecue sauce or spare ribs with potato wedges are really nice – not expensive either.
Last time we were there the band wasn’t on, but the previous time they really added atmosphere with country and western music.
Recommended. (Just remember to take plenty of wipes!)

I had lunch at Cowboy Cookout in June 2007. I ordered an omelet sandwich, fries and salad. The omelet sandwich was a bit strange, like an Egg McMuffin but on a hamburger bun. The salad (same pre-packaged factory-made salad as any other counter service restaurant in DLP) was nearly devoid of taste, consisting of lettuce, a few corn niblets, two rubbery slices of egg and two minuscule and surprisingly tasteless cherry tomatoes. The fries were okay. The food was only part of the problem at Cowboy Cookout as I discovered the service was also dismal.

Most fast food restaurants at DLP have a very strange set-up for ordering and picking up food. Cashiers sit at small kiosks a few yards in front of the counter and take orders. Each kiosk serves two lines, which usually ends up confusing customers who think they are next in line only to see the cashier turn away from them just as they reach the front.

I ordered by saying something like this: “One omelette sandwich, one salad, one fries, and one (short pause) cola light.” The cashier said the total and I paid, but I noticed that the bill was a bit more than it should be. I looked at the receipt and saw that I was charged for two drinks, so back to the cashier I went. The idea that customer is king was completely unknown to the cashier. I politely pointed out the error and he immediately told me that I *did* order one cola light and one Coca Cola. Ahem, I most certainly did not. So I got my change back with a roll of the cashier’s eyes and proceeded to the counter, now holding two receipts (the original one and one showing the correction).

Anyway, after placing your order with the cashier you proceed to the counter where you hand over your receipt so your order can be fulfilled by the most incompetent fast food workers on the planet. I handed the two receipts over to one of two cowboys helping the lunchtime crowd. Yes, it was nearly noon and there were just two people preparing customer lunch orders. The guy read the receipts for a good long moment and shouted to the kitchen: “Omelet!” And then he went to the drink machine and filled up a cola light AND a regular Coke. Brilliant. He would have given them both too, if I didn’t point out what the receipts indicated. He also gave me my salad and fries, and I proceeded to wait for the omelet. Chicken and rib orders were being filled all around as I patiently waited. Someone ordered a beer but the tap wasn’t delivering so our cowboy spend the next 10 minutes playing with it. Meanwhile I heard the cry of “omelet” coming from the kitchen – yay my food was ready! The other cowboy was still filling orders and when he was taking the receipt from the customers behind me, I tried to get his attention by looking him in the eye and saying loudly and clearly, “excuse me”. He ignored me. A minute later, after our guy finally got the tap to work, he proceeded to help the next customers! I managed to butt in and ask for the omelet, which had by then been sitting under the heat lamp for five minutes. Of course my fries were by now cold. Oh well, what do you expect for 20 euros?

The interior is rather charming with a lovely western feel. It’s especially nice in winter where a large fireplace roars in the corner. Unfortunately the food is usual fast food fayre: burgers and the like. The burger I had wasn’t great. Live music is sometimes provided: we saw a very talented bluegrass band who livened up the meal considerably.
