This is a great ride and the suspense of when its going to drop is great. Disney has done itself proud with this version of ToT.
This ride I wicked! I was terrified to go on it at first but I did go on it and found it fantastic. I think its good that Disneyland Paris has put in another thrilling ride!!
I really do like this ride. I didn’t think it was as good as the Orlando version but nevertheless still a good ride. Very thrilling and enjoyable.
I went on this ride one week ago. I was relaxed, because i thought that the ride wasn’t very thrill. But WOW, the chutes were excellent, and all the ride was better than my expectations !!! This is a great ride for the park, i think that it will be the number one in the park.
This ride was excellent, but I agree with the previous person, the height limit is 1.2m, which means I could have taken my 4 yr old-glad I didn’t! I think I managed to screma louder than she would have done though!!!
Wow, I was really impressed by this thrill ride.
It definitely lived up to my expectations! Not only is the thrill itself is wonderful, but the pre-show, the queues and the surrounding theme is all superb!
One note though, don’t ride with kids who are easily scared (even if the height restriction is only 1.02 m), the drops are quite sudden….
The best the Studio’s has to offer right now… 9/10
Iv’e been on it 4 times during the dreampass previews and i have to say this ride is superb a definit 10/10, this is by far one of the best Disney rides ever :) Can’t wait to ride it again soon.
Not sure where to begin, really…
The ASTONISHING view as you exit Studio 1 and walk right up to this enourmous building, the EXTREMELY detailed surrounding area, the GREAT area music as you reach the entrance… It all adds up to the perfect setting for your visit to the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Then, as you enter the queue area and start noticing even more detail, it’s incredible to believe that this is just the beginning of a great experience…
Enter the lobby, try and close your jaw that just dropped out of excitement for this great entrance to the hotel, and meet the first of many greatly performing castmembers that are inviting you to the library…
In the library, you are introduced to the story of the hotel, and this is what makes the disney difference! The story is awesome, and adds so much more to a ride than a regular free fall tower could ever be! Just as you thought the themeing could impossibly get any better than what you just witnessed in the library, you are entering the boiler room. Its grandeur together with the superb themeing and great lightning and sound effects simply are astonishing!
Queue a little longer, and a cast member will kindly ask you to enter your service elevator. It must be said that they way they board is done EXTREMELY good, and in this case, the cast members really are making a difference by making everything go in an orderly fashion, and giving you an experience that really makes this ride even better than it already is without their performance!!!
The rest of the ride is something you really should experience yourself… The show is absolutely fantastic, the effects brilliant, and the drop, well ermm… scary to some people ;)
Just one word of advise: don’t think you aren’t up to it, as the drop in itself seems a lot scarier than it actually is, and most people will survive, really ;)
I would have rated this 12/10, but unfortunately, a ten is the best I can do! It’s just plain and simply the best ride in Paris at this moment!!!
I still can’t believe it’s there, and I still can’t believe it’s THAT good!!!
Well done, Disney!
Thanks to DLRP Magic, we two HappyHoppies from Finland got the news of the special Annual Pass TOT “test runs” only a night before our trip to Paris! I didn’t want to jinx our incredible luck, so I didn’t wait the Saturday of December the 15th too eagerly. However, as we visited the Studios park on Friday the 14th, the Tower had opened for a few hours to regular park guests — and in we went, up the elevator and came down happily screaming! And the following day, thanks to our Annual Passes, we got to ride it again for three magnificent times.
In the summer of 2002 one of my long-time dreams came finally true: After ten years’ absence, I finally returned to Walt Disney World in Florida and got to ride their original Tower of Terror six times in a row, with a very small crowd of other guests. I fell instantly in love with the WDW version (at the Disney-MGM Studios) for its superb technical aspects, most importantly the breathtaking “Fifth Dimension” sequence where the elevator breaks away from its shaft and enters another one at the end of the corridor. Another thing that I loved in the WDW version, was the famous Twilight Zone “door” twisting and turning amongst the sea of stars.
Compared to this newest Tower at Disneyland Paris, the WDW original still holds the first place in my heart – but the enchantment and the excitement is still intact in the Paris version. The first drop definitely gets more shock value following immediately the beautiful sea of stars. The replacement of safety bars with seatbelts makes the drops seem more shocking than in the WDW version. The bellhops are impressively “in-character” with their devilish grins. My only complaint is that the exquisitely-done original “Rod Serling” narration is dubbed in French — and even if the preshow narration can be heard in the original English some way, I doubt that the elevator ride can be experienced only in French. (??)
Even though I miss the stark spell of the WDW original, this Paris Tower of Terror is definitely an “E-Ticket” Adventure – and it it will undoubtedly delight and spellbind all sorts of guests!
I’ve just come back from DLRP and was lucky enough to be able to get on the TOT (3 times) as they opened it to the public for “test runs”.
It’s superb! The special effects are amazing and very sleek, and the view over the Parks is breathtaking.
The best version of the ride Disney have built so far.
Top attraction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did it in Florida, and waiting for 10 years in Paris…
and now its here
and it was a beautiful ride……now the best thrill in Paris…!
