My review of the ride:
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz OH, CATASTROPHE CANYON! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzz, OH NO, I APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN SLIGHTLY SCALDED BY A FLAME THROWER MASQUERADING AS A DRAGON, HOW CUNNING! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Here concludes my review.
What is happening to the tram tour? 3 years ago this one one of our favourite rides; last week we were all dissappointed. There are blue hoardings up from the start of the tour around a future development – not too much of a problem but the commentary is also out of use until after catastrophe canyon. The tour past the costume department has gone.
The tram we rode on had two carriages out of use with external damage to them. Cast member could not be understood over the public address. Finally the graphics on the outside of the tram carriages are peeling off. This ride needs a re-vamp!
I have been on this ride a number of times, my Mum is a huge fan of Catastrophy Canyon and I have to say that part of the ride is great but the rest of the ride is very boring and dated. I alomost wish I could see Catastrophy Canyon and then get off the ride!
I really think so much could be done to improve this ride as it really brings down the studios. Currently there is props from a film called Dinotopia and other random “props” which in my opinion feel more like I am looking at Garden ornaments lol!
It’s a ride worth doing once for Catastrophy Canyon but not a ride that you would be keen to do again!
The only good part was Catastrophe Canyon, the rest was so boring and a waste of time.
What a joke…
The truck/earthquake part is really well done, The dragons of London… well what dragons??? Just a flame thrower in a nicely done set… it really seemed has it was somehow broken but not , there’s nothing more to it…
And in between some props and vehicles from various movies…
Keep the truck part, ditch the rest…
A little on the boring side for the most part, but still good for kids, and for me it’d just feel wrong to go to Studios and not go on it. Catastrophe Canyon is always good though, definitely worth it for first-timers as the first time you see it it’s amazing. Sit on the left to see the effects, you’re unlikely to get wet.
Our cast member just sat there looking glum for the whole trip however – when we went on the tram tour in Florida last summer they were interacting as there was a whole little scene when you enter catastrophe canyon which made it much more exciting. I’m not sure if this is always the same in Paris or if we just got unlucky.
BORING! Nothing interesting at all!!
I ended up falling asleep on it, waste of time!
This ride needs to be removed as soon as possible.
When I rode this tour for the first time I really had to laugh hard, cause I thought: “this can`t be true, are they mocking me?” boring, boring, boring…
I don`t understand why they built that, you don`t know the movies you drive through and catastrophe canyon is ridiculous… Studio tram tour should be named “a catastrophe ride”. I think it`s the worst attraction of the whole resort, because it promises a lot and that`s just a lie.
PS: This attraction is an absolute exception in the resort, most of the other rides are great!
Don’t miss this ride, it’s for the whole familly. Fine special effects. Put the children to the left so they can see the effects.
The tour just doesn’t cut it for me any longer….it needs to be removed or updated.
I’m surprised at how lousy this ride was rated. My family enjoyed it. Especially Catastrophe Canyon and the dragons taking over London bit, but even just seeing the props, we thought was exciting. My mother and I loved seeing the clothes, and the boys in our family liked the cars.
The queue wasn’t horrid; a little longer than I would have liked, but worth it.
The catastrophe canyon part is definately worth seeing, i was amazed the 1st time i saw it, but the rest of the ride isnt so interesting.
If nothing else is an excuse to sit down and take the wait off your feet.
Quite a nice relaxing ride, although since the Tower of Terror has been erected, the queue area has felt rather squashed, and when I went in Oct 2007, we queued for around 45 minutes to get on, which is really unusual for us! The English commentary is provided by Jeremy Irons, who has the perfect voice for the ride, but there is no real flow in the script, especially when sometimes the video does not work, which tends to happen quite a lot.
The highlight of the tour is of course Catastrophe Canyon, and of course dragons taking over London, which are both executed excellently. It would be nice if the props you were shown were more up to date and from better films, rather than 102 Dalmations and Pearl Harbour, but perhaps this will undergo a revamp soon.
Not a totally unworthy addition to the Studios, but certainly not the best it has to offer. Worth a go, even if it is just for Catastrophe Canyon.
Alright if you want to relax and sit down, worth a go for the fire and water scenes alone. The rest is a little boring unless you are interested in set design etc.
A ride that could deliver much but sadly doesn’t – it has two action points the canyon and the London scene and apart from that this ride really just doesn’t have anything going for it. Needs to increase the action to justify the long wait before I would consider recommending this to anyone 3/10
