A brilliant staple of the park. It has become somewhat of a signature ride and I think they've put a lot of effort into it.

The theming is fantastic, the flumes add a bit of excitement and the ride is long however doesn't get boring at all in my personal opinion. The song fits the ride and I think for entertainment value it deserves full marks as the plot of the story is persistent and doesn't confuse you in any way.

This is a great ride and one of the best in the park. The theming is both consistent and exceptionally good, making it one of the jewels of the Disneyland Park. The one in California is better if you want thrills (two drops- one 52ft the other 37ft) but the Paris one has a consistent storyline that actually makes sense. However, it would be nice to have an appearance from one of the characters from the movies somewhere.

This review is no different than others, because all I can do is sing PotC's praises :)

It really is an amazing ride, and just CANNOT be missed. The theming is spot-on, and I would definitely rate the queue area as one of Disney's best. I get goosebumps walking through that area, because it so effectively builds up the suspense and atmosphere!

A few tips: If you have young children who are big fans of the movie, make sure they know before hand that this ride is NOT based on the film. I have seen so many children in recent years coming out the ride feeling disappointed because they didn't see Jack Sparrow. If they know before hand, they'll be able to enjoy the ride for what it is, rather than looking out for the characters they know all the time!

Another great tip is to wait to ride this at the END of the day. If you head over about an hour before the park closes, the queue qill be extrememly short, even non-existent, and you'lll be able to walk straight on. You'll probably also find that the Cast Members let you ride again and again as many times as you want! This is definitely a great experience, as there are always new things to discver on the ride :)

This ride has always had a special place in my heart, I can remember watching the television programs with Walt Disney where he would talk about this ride, I always loved the shot of the pick up truck carrying the animatronics along an American highway, and the look of amazement from fellow drivers :D and in 1997 I got to experience the ride for myself, it is my most vivid and earliest memory I have of Disneyland.

The theming for this ride is just top notch, absolutely excellent. From the moment you cross over to Adventureland and see skull rock, passing the stone walls scattered with cannons awaiting the imminent attack, you are just captivated by the sights that meet you. Head towards the Jolly Rodger pirate flag and you might just catch a glimpse of Captain Jack as you pass the Blue Lagoon and the Captains Quarters. As you enter the queue line you are taken further and further into their world, twisting and turning past skeletons in their cells and abandoned quarters.. Nobody can resist humming a little tune of “Yo Ho. Yo Ho. a Pirates life for me” As you are greeted by a friendly pirate who helps you aboard you vessel headed for Tortuga! And off you go into the darkness …

As a child I remember being scared of all the skeletons in this ride, but nether the less I enjoyed every minute of it. Now at the old age of 21 I find the ride to be lacking a little excitement and hope we get the update that WDW has, or at least a refurb (please fix the mayor)!

On our last trip we were lucky enough to spend an hour straight on this ride, thanks to the very friendly CMs and a 5 min queue line, it never gets dull to me.

Tip: Don't try to take photos on this ride, it only infuriates people, and no matter how good your flash is, you wont get a good photo.

“Dead men tell no tales!”

Wuuhuuu!!! This ride is soooo amazing! From the outdoor queue area until the exetorior it is one complete story. During your walk-float-walk experience the storyline becomes completed.
I can´t say more than: ride, see, experience and you fall in love with it.

Fun as always, but not a great hit with my kids. The queue area was lit so darkly that my son (who isn't afraid of the dark BTW) began saying early on that he didn't want to go on the ride. As we sailed on, I realized how may scary images there were, so I won't be taking my two on this ride again for a while.

This is our second most favourite ride at Disneyland Park. The themeing is beautiful and the special effects look great. There's really so much to see and everything is kept in great condition, but that goes for every ride.

Great ride, my 4 year old wasnt too sure of animated puppets, but they recreated life as it would have been for pirates. Queues not too bad, short. As with all rides, better midweek.

I cannot say enough good things about this ride. The original California version is superior, but this does not matter in the slightest, as this ride is still amazing. The theming and attention to detail is something so brilliant that only Disney could come up with.

Absoloutely fantastic. All ages enjoy this ride and I've never had to queue too long. The version in California is hugely inferior compared to this masterpiece, the only one that isn't based on the films. Great music, the theming is fantastic, rivalled only by Phantom Manor. You can't miss this ride.

TIP - If you like getting a bit of spray off the rather gentle flumes then I suggest sitting at the front of the boat; gives a nice refreshing feeling.
