This ride getas a 10 out of 10 for us as this is one of our favorite rides in Studios. A fantastic concept now copied world wide in other formats (The troublesome trucks ride at Thomas World at Drayton Manor UK being one of them). My 2 kids (8 & 3) love this ride, I would just like to see it go on for a little longer than the 90 seconds or so you are on it, however beaucse of the popularity I can understand this short ride time.
This is a lovely ride and much faster than tea cups and you don’t spin yourselves around, it does it for you.
I would agree that there isn’t much space for adults in the cars.
Also difficult to take a picture of Lightning as he’s to one side of the ride and you have to have been on the ride before you get to him. No pictures unless you’ve been on the ride. Also no nearby shop selling Cars stuff which was a shame as it was my little boys favourite character and he was disappointed.
A good ride, could have done with a little bit more thought put into it. It also looks at the moment to be tacked on out of the way and can be difficult to get past the miles of queue to Crush’s Coaster.
Short queues and very fast. I was strapped in but fell off my seat, not much leg room for the taller people, much faster and spinnier that the tea cups.
I loved this ride and even though from looking at it the ride seems to go slow and be quite a baby-ish type ride it actually seems much faster when you are on it and is a fun ride! The only compliant I have is that if 2 adults are seated toegther it can be a tight fit and I wish they had made it a bit more comfortable!
A fun ride, and nice theming in the queue area. There was quite a scrum for cars, and the staff didn’t manage access to the cars very well, so we had to go back to the front of the queue, despite being let through, as they hadn’t counted 2 people = 1 car, 4 people = 1 car – just the total number of people that could ride.
Great ride and brilliantly themed with all the posters and items in the queue line making what is a fairly short queue feel shorter. The ride is fairly short but great as a filler or for kids.
Tip: if you have two adults in the back and they lean into the turns it makes the car spin twice as fast… when we went on the car kept spinning for around 15 seconds after everyone else’s.
Completely worth riding! My family(consisting of two teenagers and two forty-something parents) were probably the oldest family in line, and we wondered if we enjoyed it the most. We went first thing in the morning, as I’d heard it was a pretty popular ride.
Not a bad queue, really. And as you walk through the area to get through the ride, be sure to look around; there are fun Cars-themed posters and items along the way.
Once we were actually on the ride, it was really fun, and nobody cared that we were probably some of the oldest people. The cars are surprisingly rough, and throw you around a little bit, and you really do think you’ll hit the other cars! Really fun. It’s just a little difficult to get pictures of other family members riding in other cars, as they spin around so much. (:
We rode this just after it opened back in June 2007. When we heard there was a new Cars ride opening we were so excited. It was completely different to what we expected but it is brilliant. The whole Cars theme is great (One of our favourite films).
The only downside is that I wish they had Lightning McQueen in a better position to take photos. It is on the edge of the ride and you get people getting off the ride at the end and going over and getting their photos taken with Lightning. This wouldn’t happen if they put it in a photographic friendly location.
I also think they missed a big opportunity not opening a store solely selling Cars merchandise. They would have got a few Euros out of me!!!
We rode this twice with our children and the ride is far better in the front than the back of the cars as you really get the near misses as the cars whirl close to each other. Takes your breath away and leaves you wanting another go. A must for preschoolers and a great addition to the Studios Park.
A fantastic ride , fast and furious with great “Cars” themeing. If you love the film go on this ride. Looking at the ride it doesnt appear that good , but get on it and you feel the difference to this opinion. We went on twice.
Very nice ride, it’s very funny how the cars spin during the ride. The themeing is awesome!
A fantastic ride, one of the most ‘fun’ rides in the park. My son and i loved it and he kept wanting to ride again and again! Luckly there wasnt any ques each time we rode. Unfortunatly with very few cars when there is a que it goes very slowly. After reading bad things about it i wasnt expecting to enjoy it that much but it really is brilliant and such a great ride for younger visitors!
Im so sure, (although maybe i was seeing things??) that some of the cars spin faster then the others and from what i could see it wasnt lightening! Its similar to the tea cups ride but you dont control the spinning and you keep thinking your going to bash into the other cars! They dont all just go round on one circle, it does a figure 8 switching from one turntable to the other and thats when you get the feeling your going to collide with someone!
It could do with being a bit longer but with the ques slow already maybe its not such a good idea!
8/10
You look at it and think it is the tea cups in a car, but its much better. My 7 yr old didn’t want to go on…boring he said, but he enjoyed them and they really do move quickly. Good fun.
Looks sedate but is surprising lively and was enjoyable to both adults and children. Queues can fluctuate and everyone seems to stampede for the red cars (funny that). A good ride although over very quickly.
My children enjoyed this, and that’s what matters.
However, it needs more cars to reduce the long slow queues, and the ride need to be longer than 2 – yes – TWO minutes!
