What a great area. It’s a great way for kids to let off steam after lots of time queuing earlier on in the day. I particularly enjoyed the treehouse, and the view from the top.
This is a great place to head for to get away from the peak-time crowds, but if you’re tired steer clear as it can be quite exhausting.
I could spend a whole afternoon scampering through this explorer’s paradise. The strong pirate theming (flickering lanterns, honky-tonk pianos etc.) is magnificent, and La Cabane des Robinson is a fascinating place.
My personal highlights are Davy Jones’s Locker (let your eyes adjust to the darkness before exploring as it’s extremely dark at first, especially on a bright day), the Robinson wreck (featuring great rope bridges balanced on beams over the water) and Pont Suspendu (a huge suspension bridge). Captain Hook’s pirate ship could be improved as there is essentially nothing to do there (perhaps a lower-deck tour could be introduced?), but make sure you still visit all the hidden parts of Adventure Isle as they’re all well worth a look. Happy exploring!
The best exploration attraction in the park (except the Castle, obviously).
The caves are so great! I prefer enter the caves during the Winter, when it’s cold outside you feel a “good cold sensation” inside them.
At the night, the illumination is not so good, so I recommend it during the afternoon, when there is many people on the other attractions.
Every year we visit this is a must do, me, my brother and uncle break away from the group and adventure the caves at night! its great fun! we know our way around now, but that doesn’t ruin it! if its a bright day it takes a while to adjust to the darkness and you will probably walk into a wall your first go, but its on the top 10 things to do list.
i have been known to get a little carried away, and crawl out of the entrance, kiss the ground and shout “Je suis libre! Enfin, après le 14 longues années!” which roughly means “I’m free! finally, after 14 long years!” :p
I got lost here for some time, but still had a smile on my face by the end of it.
The rope bridge is huge, and i have to admit to chickening out walking acrossed it, but there is another way round if you do have a fear of heights.
This part of the park is beautiful and there is so much to see. Unfortanetly its not really all that suitable for anyone unsteady on there feet as its very uneven in places, and quite a way to walk, there is also alot of steps.
Well worth an exploration.
Fun for exploring and getting well and truely lost, be prepared to lose yor bearings, all the caves look the same!!
Captain hooks Ship is the main feature, but there is a wooden swinging bridge to be found!
Adventure Isle is a beautiful part of Adventureland and probably one of the most lovely in the whole of DLRP. From the sandy bay with Captain Hook’s ship, to the tropical forests with la Cabane des Robinson and then down into the spooky buccaneer caves; Adventure Isle is a most amazing place to explore! There is fantastic sceneary, in the authentic bamboo poles, the wonderful vevetation and dreamy lagoons, and so in other words: if you are to just pass by on your way to Pirates of the Caribbean or indiana Jones, then you are really missing out.
If you want to lose the children, this is the place! Lots of caves and underground mazes; bridges between the hills (including a huge rope bridge)., and hidden pathways in all directions.
Let ‘em loose while you have a drink (and a rest) at Hook’s ship. The area could do with more theming or an attraction, but perhaps that’s to come.
While it is a nicely themed part, it could be even better.. There are lots of Disney movies “made” in the Jungle, who could give the children (and some older children) more entertainment in the area. Maybe something of the The Lost Boys (Peter Pan) and Tarzan (tree). The tree is themed too realistic for me.
One of the best place in Adventureland for me. This place at dusk is just… wow ! I just love get lost in it (though it happens less now than I’m starting to know every inch of it… lol).
I think it’s one of the most beutifully themed part of the park.
