I have to say I thought this was the best bit of New Year. Far better that the fight to get to see the fireworks at midnight and the abuse people gave each other! My husband and I were able to enjoy chatting to each other (!) whilst the children were up dancing, having their face painted, painting a picture, watching the magic show or saying hello to the characters.
The choice of menu was a bit strange, but it was good quality, and although there was loads of people there, it didn’t seem that busy.
Just back from our trip to DLPR (my 13th visit) and first time i´m totaly disappointed .
After a very stressful year we (my husband, me and my parents) want to have a magical X-mas and as a huge Disneyfan there was only one destination to go … DLRP. So we booked a trip form 22th to 25th of december. And as a X-mas surprise I booked the “Magical Gala-Dinner Show” In the Newport bay.
I thought for 159€ / person (2th service) we would have a great meal and some kind of musical show but first time ever in DLP I felt ripped off. The food was ok … but not worth more then 30 € (the day before the dinnershow we had a better menu in the park for least 29€ in the Silverspurt Steakhouse!). But for this mass of people in the ballroom of the hotel i think it’s hard to serve a gourmet menue.
But the “show” was a disaster. I expected a musical show as in the parc (like lion king or the Mickey winter wonderland show). Instead of that there was 4 times a short gig (3minutes) from Mickey and his friends. I didn´t understand a word because the voices and music was to quiet. There was one lousy song per gig, the figures waved around and “danced” (no comparison with the parc -shows) and that´s all! No real singers, no real show not even a real stage!!. I felt like in a charakter-breakfast.
I´m so angry!!! I paid 640€ for that meal with my family and each one of us was totally disappointed.
