  1. This is a great ride- don’t miss it! It combines the modern technology of animatronics and lighting with good old plunges down drops. Make sure you ride it!

  2. A Disney classic! always like to ride this several times, and always spot something new. Yo Ho Yo Ho a pirates life for me!

  3. This is my favourite ride, i love it!
The theming is fantastic, just missing Jack Sparrow. Plus a nice warm ride, which in march you very much appreciate.

  4. Adventureland’s best ride. This is a must for any visit and is very atmospheric as you set sail into the land of pirates and adventure. As you pass the diners in the Blue Lagoon restuarant (hopefully enjoying their meals) you enter the humid, water world of pirates. As you are taken up the water hill for your first minor drop you can see and hear the sounds of cannon and muskets.

The tableaus of pirates are great - I always enjoy the two cats floating on wooden crates as they meow pittifully and the now famous dog, with cell keys in its mouth, being coaxed by the inmates of the prison.

Some of the moving items are now looking a little worn (the sword fighting pair are not as impressive as they once were) and the man in the well does not seem to spurt water out of his mouth anymore. BUT the ride is great and the water flume down to the mystical world of the ghostly pirates and the hidden treasure is superb (this is where you get your picture taken!!).

No-one should ever miss this one. Please let us have a working Jack Sparrow and Miss Elizabeth Swan to add something even more special.

  5. The best ride in disneyland! Just missing jack sparrow!

  6. I absolutely adore this ride! The theming is magical and the music whilst in the queue’s is just perfect. I couldn’t find a scratch wrong with this. It is definitely my all time favourite ride!

  7. This is one of my favourite rides in both parks. I have encountered some 15 mins queues but it generally keeps moving well. I think the whole idea is great and very imaginative. I enjoy the three drops - the second is the best. Although I can’t speak fluent French I can tell what is happening just by the visual clues.

A must for any visit - my record is 10 times in one five day stay. I still haven’t worked out where to sit to not get splashed and it will depend on how full the boat is - just be warned.

  8. One of the best rides here.

The queues are fast moving and ive never had to queue more than 5 minutes, in fact in September we were able to walk straight on. Have been on this ride at least once on every day of my trips to disney, as everytime you see something new.

The 2 log flume type plunges are just right to add excitment but still keep the ride suitable for all. Although the 1st time we rode, we were seated on the front row, and not knowing the drops were coming the 1st one actually did scare me a little!

Can be a little warm and very humid in the queueing areas and the ride itself, especially in the summer and possibly the whole experiance is abit spooky for very small children as it is very dark in places.

A must do on any visit to dlrp

  9. One of the top 5 rides!!

Obviously the films have made this more popular with guests, so the queues are longer than they used to be, but don’t fret - the queues go extremely fast and longest i’ve waited was 15 minutes in the summer.

Catchy song (you know it by now) and some of the animatronics look so real. The dips aren’t that big, which is a little disappointing, but still a brilliant ride!

  10. Everytime I go back to Disneyland this ride is the one thing I look forward to the most! I would go on it everyday if I was allowed.

One of my earliest memories is actually going on this ride with my parents on our first trip to Disneyland, we sat at the front and I thought it was brilliant that I’d got splashed! lol. since then i haave always been captivated by pirates of the caribbean, this ride will always hold special memories for me and i love that the Blue Lagoon restaurant is located inside (a great place for a romantic meal!).

I love the fact that in Anahiem they got all the audio-animatronic characters to the park on a back of a pick up truck! so much thought by the imagineers has gone into the making of this ride.

Yo ho, Yo ho, A Pirates Life For Me!

  11. Best ride ever! As there was a group of 12 of us, of all ages, this was one of our favourites! Couldnt see Captain Jack Sparrow though which is a shame because he is in the one in Florida.

  12. An absolute masterpiece. Probably a ride you will ride again in 50 years from now. The queueline is full of details, the ride is fantastic, and the music… Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate’s life for us ! Plus : it feels good during cold winter months to sit in this hot atmosphere… 10/10 hands down

  13. This ride is brillant!! Much better than the one in LA park. Watch out for various scenes that feature in film!

  14. yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me! me and my dad enjoyed this ride numerous times. fun for all ages, a boat ride through pirate times where you bump in jack sparrow and his friends. its a must do.

  15. I have been on this ride more time than I care to mention and it never fails to please. There are two small plunges but nothing to worry about. Disney Imagineers have made this a truly unforgettable journey through dungeons and a Caribbean island and numerous audio animatronics of wenches and pirates abound! Very small children might find it a little scary but I should think it will appeal to all over 5’s! You will be singing ‘Yo Ho A Pirate’s Life for Me’ for ages!!!!

  16. Fantastic. Brilliant. A must for everyone. This has got to be one of my favourite rides, from the queueing area to the actual ride itself is first class. I love the way that even the queue line feels like an attraction, a brillant atmosphere ( a bit hot though, had to strip off hat and coat!) The ride itself is so clever and now having seen the films, you can see where the ideas and characters came from ( dog with keys in mouth). The effects and atmosphere are amazing. The climbs and drops are not too scary (I can cope with it)! You MUST go on this one.
    10/10

  17. Great ride, great music. The ride is well themed with quiet areas where you can enjoy the theming and slightly more ‘exciting’ parts when you go down the dark slopes and maybe get wet! The queue at times for the ride can be long, if so go away and come back later as you can usually then walk straight on. A must do ride for most of the family.

  18. This is one of the best attractions in DLRP and also one of my favorites.

By dagobert on 5th November 2007 at 10:53 pm

  19. A great ride, last year we went on the ride and we could walk through the less themed waiting line, so we thought, were gonna ride in a minute. But then there was the beautiful waiting line inside, were it is even enjoyable waiting a couple of minutes!

  20. Probably the best ride at Disney.
The ride is fantastic but I think its the setting and the detail that make it.
    Brilliant

  21. Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the best rides at Disneyland Paris!! It is better than the one in Florida (in my opinion) becuase it has larger dips and more splashes! I love the movies and the ride makes it even better, my whole family love it to! You must go on this ride!!

    By disneybabygirl92 on 25th October 2007 at 4:46 pm

  22. Absouletly fantastic ride, my families favourite. No matter how many times we have been on this, its still the best ride in disneyland paris!!!!

By nattynoo on 6th October 2007 at 6:11 pm

  23. Love this ride. We went on the ride and because it was pretty quiet we were able to stay on again. Love just drifting along and then you have the pull up the hill and then further along the dips down.

By jenjen on 2nd October 2007 at 1:23 pm

  24. We absolutely love this ride. Especially if you’re feeling a little tired - it’s great for a rest! Everything about the theming is terrific and we never tire of revisiting it! Can’t wait to go back again soon.

By princessj on 19th September 2007 at 5:44 pm

  25. This classic dark rides gets it right on every level: brilliant animatronics, excellent sets and a catchy theme song. Unlike the cut down Walt Disney World version, this ride features the lot: drifting through the Blue Bayou, the journey through the bombarded fort and town, and the creepy caves. It even features some extras including a realistic animatronic sword fight, and a pirate swinging over your head. Most of the dialogue in the ride is French.

This is a very high capacity ride that rarely has much of a wait. If the ride is running on full capacity it’s amazing to see how many people it moves through! This ride is a little intense and can be scary for some younger children.

Overall this attraction is one of my faves and is not to be missed. Everything from the queue line to the finale is excellent. A truly brilliant attraction.

  26. This is definitely my favourite attraction in Disneyland Park. It has great theming, an amazing atmosphere, and is very enjoyable.

People often think that a rides have to have the most loops or the biggest drops to be one of the best, but they don’t. Pirates Of The Caribbean prooves that.

A must do attraction for everybody.

  27. This is one of our favourite rides in the resort. The special effects are great and the ride goes slow enough to enjoy the sights! The flumes are just steep enough to give you a little ‘thrill’ but not so steep as to frighten the little ones. Great ride for all ages. Meeting Jack Sparrow outside really adds to the experience!

By lukesmom on 10th September 2007 at 3:58 pm

  28. Top quality attraction, a true gem of a ride. Often with a very short wait due to a huge capacity, although you wouldn’t mind waiting in the queue line too much anyway because of its atmospheric feel. A few of the animatronics are looking slightly aged, but this is probably one of the only down points in what is a world-class ride; there’s even a restaurant situated inside the ride.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Indoor boat ride with 2 flumes, audio-animatronics and special effects.
