I’ve visited almost all of the disneyland parks (apart from Tokyo and Hong Kong) and I can safely say that I believe that the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris is by far the most magical castle to look at. The way the shops seemlessly integrate into the castle, the magical stained glass windows and of course the perillous trip to the dragon’s lair are all just unique and certainly a part of the disney magic. 10/10!
The heart of disney and part of the magic . Disney would not be complete without the Pink castle . Sleeping beauty is not present but you can see her dragon under the castle which is well worth a visit , its a shame that most of the content of the castle is more shops and not an attraction in itself. However, this does not detract from the awesome exterior.
To me seeing this for the 1st time was magical. The castle is huge and you can go inside it, through it and under it to see the dragon. From various footpaths in the park you can see differnet elements of the castle and some of the classic disney characters set into the castle walls.
At nighttime the castle comes to life and to see it after dark is even more breathtaking than during the day.
A centrepiece, an attraction, a walk through, a feat in Disney imagineering…Not hard to see why this is so often to referred to as the prettiest Disney castle. In my opinion, probably worth the trip just to see this sight: absolutely everything has been done to perfection, and the castle never, ever looks dated or worn.
From the spiralling blue and gold turrets to the perfect pink candy-floss colour of the exterior, the Imagineers have managed to capture the castle from Sleeping Beauty and make it real. But there is so much more on the inside! On the ground floor level there is a year-round Christmas shop and a wonderful jewellery/glass making shop - which provides access to the dragon downstairs, do not miss this, as it is well-worth seeing, but watch your step!
Then, upstairs, you are able to literally walk through the story of Sleeping Beauty by means of amazing tapestries and stained glass windows which are stunning. You can find out more about how they built the castle and made the tapestries and windows on youtube.com, sorry I do not know the username of the person who uploaded them.
You could quite easily spend an hour in the castle alone and take hundreds of pictures from inside and out. My advice? Don’t just rush through it to get to Fantasyland, do it justice and explore every level.
Sleeping beautys castle is probably by far the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. So many people miss the magic of it and just see it as a gate into fantasyland but it is so much more! Dont just walk through it, there are shops inside and stunning staind glass windows upstairs that tell the story of sleeping beauty. Every day im there i look forward to entering into the park, looking down mainstreet and seeing this magnificently beautiful castle.
When Wishes, Les Feux de la Fée Clochette, the Enchanted Candleabration or the Disney’s Vilains Showtime (night version) begin or begun, the Sleeping Beaty Castle can be very different but it’s always wonderful. You’ll see a haunted castle, a stardust in the sky or a wonderful cristal palace. Everything’s magical ; don’t miss the Enchanted Candleabration !
Disneyland Reosrt Paris wouldn’t be complete without this truly magnificent castle. Don’t just walk through it, take time to admire it’s beauty. Go upstairs to see the stunning stained-glass windows and the Renaissance style tapestries. You can also access an external balcony for great views of the park. I was at DLRP last Christmas and the castle was lit up at night with thousands of tiny lights, truly magical. Take time to visit the Christmas shop underneath where you are sure to be able to part with some euros. They sell some delightful decorations which you will get out every year to decoarte your tree and to remind you of your visit.
This IS ‘Disney’ ! You get through the gates, look down through main street and there it is, Sleeping beautys castle! I think its a wonderful sight, a sight that says ‘I’m in Disneyland’. This castle looks beautiful on a sunny day but really comes alive at night, when the whole place is lit up. Suddenly I am an excited little 29 year old girl!!!! I love it.
One night there was a really heavy rain storm (Poo! you might think), but no, we sheltered inside the castle looking up towards main street and it was fantastic. It really was beautiful to watch the lit up rain sweeping across the park, magical, in fact.
The shops inside always put me in a Christmasy mood whatever time of year it is. We usually end up buying a decoration, which just reminds you of your trip every year that you decorate your Christmas tree. 10/10
This is Disneyland, and in my opinion is the best looking out of all the different parks round the world. A lot of people just look at it and say “oh that’s nice” but never really go and see it. I think a lot think there’s nothing to see but there’s a lot! Go upstairs and admire the stained glass windows, the view over fantasyland, and the effects and sights of inside the castle.
It’s not that I stare at the castle for minutes, but every time you’re walking next to it, you think, damn thats a nice castle. Dlrp wouldn’t be Dlrp without this beautiful castle. Best of all Disney Parks.
The castle is my favourite thing to look at. It is so beautiful during the day and at night and looks even more spectacular during the fireworks that occur most ever night all year round. The time when it looks prettiest is definitely Christmas time.
The magnificent centrepiece of the park: Sleeping Beauty Castle.
The ornate detail of the park’s centrepiece with its quaint turrets, towering spires and colourful windows reawakens your childhood and makes dreams come true for princes and princesses of all ages.
