Extra Magic Time

Exclusive extra time for some of the most popular attractions.

Imagine having a whole extra hour to enjoy some of your favourite attractions, before regular park opening. That's exactly what Extra Magic Time offers, now at both Disney parks. Early risers can sneak through the gates long before everyone else, as the parks are still fresh from their morning clean-up and the rides only just whirring into action. Little to no queues, lots of space and a feeling that you've the park entirely to yourself.

This very special perk is offered to a number of guests, falling into the categories below, though many choose to only use the extra hour(s) on particular days, meaning the feeling of exclusivity is always there.

Who can enjoy Extra Magic Time?

The privilege is mainly used to encourage patronage of Disney's own hotels, and so if you stay at any of the following hotels, you'll be able to access Extra Magic Time (and there's no extra charge):

  • Disneyland Hotel
  • Disney's Hotel New York
  • Disney's Newport Bay Club
  • Disney's Sequoia Lodge
  • Disney's Hotel Cheyenne
  • Disney's Hotel Santa Fe
  • Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch

Ah, but that's not all. One of the best benefits of a Magic Plus or Infinity Annual Pass is you too can also get access to all Extra Magic Time as one of the many exclusive privileges, whether you're staying in a Disney Hotel or not.

Which attractions are open?

Since Extra Magic Time was expanded to both parks, a set list of attractions are now available most mornings. This can still be altered where attractions are closed for refurbishment, when a different attraction will usually be substituted — Disney Hotels stock a monthly leaflet guide listing the exact attractions for each month, or check our Twitter and Facebook for changes. In Disneyland Park, attractions from Frontierland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland are open, while at Walt Disney Studios Park most of the popular rides can be experienced without the usual wait:

Note that these attractions (or indeed access to one or both of the whole parks) are not guaranteed to be available every morning. Access could be removed or replaced by other attractions during periods of refurbishment or for other operational reasons. Check our Closures & Refurbishments page for details of closed attractions — if an attraction's marked as closed, it'll also be closed during Extra Magic Time.

How do you access Extra Magic Time?

To enjoy Extra Magic Time nyou'll need your Disney Hotel Easy Pass, a small identification card given upon check-in at Disney-owned hotels, or your valid Annual Pass.

  • At the park gates, just go right ahead up to the turnstiles (at Disneyland Park, it's best to go to the turnstiles around a slight corner on the far right).
  • Once inside Disneyland Park, you are free to roam Main Street, U.S.A. often alongside other guests who are let into the street early to await "rope drop" when the other lands open. Now simply walk to the roped-off entrances to Discoveryland or Fantasyland at Central Plaza and show your Disney Hotel Easy Pass or Annual Passport again to be let through to the attractions.
  • Once inside the lands, you can move between Fantasyland and Discoveryland using the path behind Royal Castle Stage, rather than having to cross the roped-off Central Plaza again.
