Walt Disney Studios ParkTips & Advice

Parade Route

The cavalcade enters the park in Toon Studio, between Flying Carpets and Animagique, and follows the Parade Route to CinéMagique, where it ends with a special meet 'n' greet.

Finding a Place to Watch

To join in the meet 'n' greet, wait until the parade has passed and then walk quickly over to Production Courtyard.  Or, if you don't watch the parade section, just wait in Production Courtyard near the Place des Stars stage for the cavalcade to arrive.

Meet 'n' Greet Magic

As this mini-parade takes place early in the morning, the park won't be quite so busy, meaning that this is the best chance to get autographs from big stars such as Mickey and Minnie, and your only chance to meet exclusive stars such as Dracula, the Hollywood Couples and the Gangsters.

Frequent Changes

The cast of this parade frequently changes, almost every day.  This means that over the course of one season there are many different characters joining in, creating a parade that's different every time!  If you're in the resort for multiple days or visit a few times a year, repeat viewing this parade is highly recommended.

Roll out the red carpet... Spotlight on a dream!

The sun shines brightly, the palm trees sway gently in the breeze... Another day of movie magic has dawned at Walt Disney Studios! But, there's no time to relax - the stars are arriving!

"Crew ready - cast to places!"

Today's cinema stars are arriving on the studio lot in a glamorous cavalcade of classic American motorcars, quickly heading off to their first scenes of the day in all the dazzling Hollywood style you'd expect, with their frantic crew and assistants running alongside.

No matter how late they're running, though, there's always time for these graceful starlets and dashing heroes to meet and greet their adoring fans!  You'll get a close-up, personal meeting with some of the all-time Disney greats - from Mickey and Minnie to Cruella De Vil, Stitch and more - as well as some live-action cinematic legends, such as the unmistakable Dracula or a pack of shady gangsters!

However big the stars, they're all ready to let you share their spotlight...

Stars & Motorcars

The line-up of motorcars and stars seen in Good Morning Walt Disney Studios is known to frequently change throughout each week, as different stars have different shooting schedules - see the cavalcade at least twice to get all the "action!". The listing below features the most frequent morning arrivals through the Studio gates...

1. Walt Disney Studios Production Van

The black Walt Disney Studios production van carries some of the most well-known animated Disney characters to their first shoot of the day.  With a selection of familiar faces and some brand new animation friends (such as Chicken Little), there's no shortage of fun and games with these talented actors and actresses!

2. Tooned-Up Motor Car with Mickey Mouse

The megastar of the Studios, Mickey Mouse, arrives in wonderfully modest style, direct from Toon Town, on a small "tooned-up" studio buggy.  It has everything a little mouse needs - somewhere to sit, someone to drive and space for film equipment.  The smallest star of the show proves you don't need the flashiest limo to make a big entrance!

3. Pink Hearts Convertible with Minnie Mouse

Following behind Mickey's modest entrance is Minnie Mouse, who's gone all-out to give the most dazzling, attention-grabbing entrance ever!  As she poses for photos in the back of her pink, heart-covered convertible with her heart-shaped shades on her head, there's still no questioning who's the brightest young starlet in this studio!

4. Black Convertible with Dracula

Hollywood's most fiendish movie star is in the studios today!  Riding in the back of a gleaming black convertible, Dracula hisses and snarls at guests and whips around his cape in dramatic style.  Costuming and make-up have truly produced a marvel here, it's a good thing Dracula has already dined!

5. Hawaiian Convertible with Lilo & Stitch

Lilo & Stitch arrive in their brand new "ohana" at the Walt Disney Studios, riding in a bright and sun-kissed white convertible scattered with Hawaiian flowers in blue and red.  Be sure to watch out if they get caught in Hollywood traffic - Stitch has a tendancy to rip the seats!  You can catch them after hair and make-up in their production of Lilo & Stitch's Catch the Wave Party, on select days.

6. Glamour Peach Convertible with Hollywood Stars

The most fashionable, elegant convertible of the all is reserved for only the most dazzling Hollywood starlets and heroes, arriving at Walt Disney Studios to begin filming any number of dashing productions inside Disney Studio 1, for the Ciné Folies productions.

The Music

Roll out the red carpet, spotlight on a dream!

The distinctive theme music of Good Morning Walt Disney Studios is a new, remixed version of the music of Disney-MGM Studios Florida's Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade.  This parade premiered in Florida for the 100 Years Of Magic Celebration in late 2001, a resort-wide celebration of the centenary of Walt Disney's birth.  The parade therefore uses music from the special "Suite of Dreams" orchestral music piece, a 20 minute long piece of music created especially for the celebration, which brought together the magic of Walt Disney World's four Disney parks in four different themes: Fantasy (Magic Kingdom), Adventure (Animal Kingdom), Discovery (Epcot) and ShowBiz (Disney-MGM Studios).

The "ShowBiz" Suite Of Dreams segment was composed by Gordon Goodwin and Greg Smith, who wanted to pay tribute to Walt Disney's 43-year moviemaking career by bringing together soundtracks from over 30 Disney movies and a toe-tapping main theme that harks back to the golden age of Hollywood.  It is this main theme which can be heard during Walt Disney Studios Park's Good Morning Walt Disney Studios, albeit in a noticeably edited format.

The most apparent alteration to the theme in the Walt Disney Studios Park version is the large amount of instrumental sections, with the lyrics of the song reduced slightly.  Unlike the Disney-MGM Studios version, the Parisian edition does not feature alternating themes for each passing character, although some of this music can be heard during the meet 'n' greet at the end of the parade.  The new theme is also paced noticeably faster all the way through, to enhance the frenzied and frantic feel of the parade as the stars arrive at the Studios.

History

Inspired by the Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade in Disney-MGM Studios Florida, this mini-parade began relatively quietly on April 3rd 2004 as part of a collection of new mini shows and parades introduced across the two theme parks of Disneyland Resort Paris for the Summer 2004 season.  It took the idea of a parade of Disney stars travelling in fancy cars and mixed it with an old idea from Disneyland Park - "Good Morning Main Street".  This old mini-parade in the early years of Disneyland Park saw classic Disney characters travelling down the street by motor car whilst greeting guests and welcoming them to the park.  For Walt Disney Studios Park, the idea was given a clear and clever story which explains that the stars arriving by car are travelling to their first film shoot of the day, and so "Good Morning Walt Disney Studios" was born!

Throughout the 2004 season of the parade, the line-up of stars changed almost daily with new characters being noticed all the time whilst some appeared only a few times.  Not only did this constantly make the parade more interesting and varied for its performers and for audiences watching for a second time, but it also conveniently fitted perfectly into the storyline of the parade.  Afterall, even the biggest Hollywood stars don't make movies every day of the week!  Some of the most interesting characters which appeared sporadically include Dracula, Cleopatra, the Gangsters and various different assortments of classic Hollywood couples and stars.

The cars of "Good Morning Walt Disney Studios" were shared with the other new 2004 entertainment production in Walt Disney Studios Park - "Lilo & Stitch's Catch The Wave Party".  Minnie used her same pink convertible to arrive and depart, whilst Lilo & Stitch used the white convertible and Goofy & Pluto used the black convertible.  The show also used an extra peach-coloured convertible which was not seen as part of "Good Morning Walt Disney Studios" until the 2005 run.

For the 2005 season, the motor cars, which are loaned from a local collector, were decorated with colourful adhesive designs.  Minnie's pink convertible was customised with pink hearts, whilst Cruella DeVil was introduced to the parade in a convertible covered in black spots (many of which were removed during the Summer months).  In 2005, "Lilo & Stitch's Catch The Wave Party" used only one car from the parade - Minnie's pink convertible - as the show now sees Goofy and Pluto arriving by motorbike and Lilo & Stitch arriving in a new white convertible, which has been customised with adhesive sticker designs of blue and red flowers.  Since 2005 the parade does, however, link into the "Starring Cruella DeVil" show, with the glamorous Cruella from this show arriving in the Studios as part of the parade.

At the start of its 2006 season, the number of cars featured in the parade was reduced from 6 to 5.  The "blood red" convertible from Merry Christmas Walt Disney Studios was also introduced, and becoming Dracula's vehicle of choice for the season!

A return for 2007 was becoming more and more unsure, before the Annual Passport magazine 'Envie de +' confirmed the cavalcade's summer season dates.  The parade has returned almost identical to similar years, albeit without the inclusing of Cruella De Vil, since her Starring Cruella De Vil show was replaced in 2007 with High School Musical On Tour.  However, the parade and meet 'n' greet remains as popular as ever.
