Hair & Make-Up Tips
- Waiting times at the Hair & Make-Up Workshops can be long, so try to arrive as early in the day as possible. Check the park 'Programme' (available next to the Park Maps when you arrive) for the latest operating hours and be first in the queue. Plus, the children will have longer to make horrors of themselves!

Halloween is all about family fun with a rascally edge, and transforming yourselves into unique, fearsome creatures with wild hair and colourful faces is all a part of the fright-filled delights.
At Disneyland Park, two dedicated workshops for children let talented artists create a "look" which would be a complete nightmare, on any other occasion.
Both Halloween Hair & Make-Up Workshops are open everyday throughout the festival and completely free for all children aged up to and including 11 years old.
Halloween Hair Workshop
Would your younger frights like a horrible new look? Go on - it's Halloween! This is the one time when your child can look like an absolute terror and you won't get "the look" from other parents...
On the waters' edge of Thunder Mesa in Halloweenland, next to the giant orange paint-pumpkin machinery, you'll find the ramshackle wooden hairdressing hut, overrun by Pumpkin Men. Inside, the world's finest collection of horror-making hairdressers are ready and prepared to turn a sensible barnet into a colourful scream using temporary colours and hair sprays.
Halloween Make-Up Workshop
Over in sleepy old Cottonwood Creek Ranch, near the Frontierland Depot Railroad Station, the new Woody's Roundup Village has opened in advance to host the Halloween Make-Up Workshop.
In lush, farming surroundings filled with hundreds of real pumpkins in all shapes and sizes, the cozy wooden ranch buildings are home to a talented team of artists with everything they need to transform the face of your younger monsters. You know what? They might even look a little better than usual...
The Halloween Hair & Make-Up Workshops are also available during Disney's Halloween Soirée on 31st October, though possibly be prepared for longer lines.
History
- The hair and make-up workshops of Halloween have been a key event at the festival since its very first year in 1997. Originally, the disused Pueblo Trading Post became the Halloween Tiff Hairdressing Salon, whilst face painting was offered via the walk-around Apprentice Sorcerers, who would then invite the children to star in a special dance show on the old Spider Web Stage.
- From 2002, changes to the makeover offerings saw the make-up workshop moved to Fantasy Festival Stage as part of a short-lived extension of the festival into Fantasyland.
- The season's 2003 return saw a major relaunch of the entire festival, with the make-up workshop now housed within a new Giant Pumpkin on Central Plaza and the hairdressing workshop finding its current position next to the Rivers of the Far West.
- Due to the Candleabration ceremony continuing throughout the 15th Anniversary on its stage occupying Central Plaza, the make-up workshop moved to the renamed Woody's Roundup Village area for 2007.
