Viewing Tips
- Put your money away - Disney's Bonfire Spectacular is free for everyone, no Hotel EasyPass or Park tickets required!
- The Bonfire Spectacular is usually advertised for around an 8pm start-time, but usually begins about 8.30pm. That said, arrive as early as possible for a good viewing position. The best are on the lakeside outside Disney's Sequoia Lodge.
- Fireworks are launched from the grass bank between Disney Village and Disney's Newport Bay Club. The path here is closed during the event.
- The 'Spectacular' lives up to its name, with fireworks far larger and longer than local area regulations usually permit in Disneyland Park. Make sure your very young children are ready for a few big "bangs" before the show begins!

Guy Fawkes' Explosive Plot
- On the evening of the 5th November in 1605, Guy Fawkes and his gang of Catholic conspirators attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London on the night when the Protestant King James I was inside. Before Fawkes could detonate his team's gunpowder, however, he was discovered and arrested, then later hung, drawn and quartered with the fellow conspirators he was forced to name.
- Every year since this occasion, celebrations have taken place across the country to commemorate the failed gunpowder plot, with fireworks, bonfires and the burning of the "Guy" - a straw dummy made by children to represent the famous conspirator.
- In modern times, however, the event has had no political significance, simply a chance to huddle together with your family on a cold November evening, watching some spectacular fireworks next to the heat of a blazing bonfire!

A classic British tradition is ignited with spectacular Disney magic. Musical fountains glisten and jaw-dropping fireworks explode over Lake Disney's giant floating bonfire, all set to an elegant and majestic soundtrack including Disney's Fantasia!
Disney's Bonfire Spectacular is an annual fireworks show presented over three days in early November, celebrating the British tradition of "Bonfire Night" with a giant floating bonfire and dancing fountains.
It is the only free fireworks show at the resort, presented on Lake Disney at the heart of the Disney Hotels district, attracting large numbers of primarily British guests to the resort each year. For French guests, the event is marketed as 'Symphonie des Feux Disney' and is also becoming increasingly popular.
From Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" to Saint-Saëns' "Carnival of the Animals", the classical music gives the show a timeless sense of celebration and emotion, right up to the explosive finale of Elgar's "Pomp & Circumstance".
The Show
Before and after the fireworks spectacular, Disney Village is filled with a vibe of "Cool Britannia" and the latest UK Top 40 chart songs filling the air around the entire Lake Disney area.
The festivities begin with the first delicate horns of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" as yellow fountains dance across the lake. Fireworks curve gently out of the lake before building into a deafening array of blasts and sparkles high in the sky as the music reaches its climax.
A fan of blue fireworks fades in to introduce the magic of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". The Fantasia classic is brought to life with bright white fireworks fizzling and twirling up into the sky and blue fountains echoing the colours of Mickey's stolen hat.
The finale of the Sorcerer's Apprentice leaves silence for a darker tone to follow. From small fountains in various colours, the power of 'The Planets' builds through single, golden fireworks to bursts and explosions of red and silver. "Mars, the Bringer of War" eventually reaches a tense climax with giant golden bursts in the sky and a 180-degree fan of fireworks launching outwards to every angle.
The light relief of a bridge from "Fantasia" and calming blue fountains lead gently into the brash opening violins of "Danse Macabre", a swirling medley of strings brought to life with spiralling Catherine Wheels across the surface of Lake Disney, spurting showers of golden sparks into the air like fountains. Green and blue tones gradually turn to red and silver as the music becomes darker and light fades. Screaming rockets screech through the sky as an ominous, gothic choir vocal fades into the music and the bonfire bursts into life. Sparks shoot into the wooden frame, glowing orange and pulsing with flashes of light.

With the launch of red and orange sparks into the sky, the bonfire ignites and burns brightly. Huge fountains erupt on the lake in the colours of red, white and blue to the national anthem of "God Save the Queen (God Save Us All)", backed by fans of long, silver streaks in the night sky behind. The pounding organ of Camille Saint-Saëns' "Maestoso - Allegro" begins the grand finale, launching golden rockets vertically into the sky with each chord, finished by a row of eight fiery red bursts along the lake.
Countless colours and styles fill the lake and the sky for "Pomp & Circumstance", an extravagant, majestic closing number which truly ends the bonfire spectacular with a... BANG!
Fun Facts
- To allow for the giant bonfire, this is the only regular fireworks show to be presented on Lake Disney, rather than inside one of the two Disney Parks.
- The resort's early years, around 1993, saw the large, high-season "Fantasia in the Sky" fireworks show presented here, following restrictions put in place over Disneyland Park since its fireworks launching area is much closer to surrounding towns.
- Music comes not only from Disney's Fantasia but, surprisingly, the Epcot circlevision attraction "Impressions de France".
