The Disneyland Resort Paris Main
Street, U.S.A. is the only one to feature these two special covered walkways
either side of the main street. They were designed especially for the
park by the Imagineers to not only ease crowd levels on the street but also
provide shelter from the weather.
Early plans called for the arcades
to have even more functionality, with a special, elevated, 1920s trollycar
shuttling between each end of the arcades.
Liberty Arcade acts as a bridge
between the turn-of-the-century American Main Street, U.S.A. and the Old
West background of Frontierland, allowing guests to experience the
liberation of the States before stepping back in time to the Frontier days. |
