There are 74 animated targets to shoot at, with your gun using an infra-red "laser" system to "hit" the targets, similar to that later used at Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast.

Based on the original Frontierland Shootin' Exposition (aka Frontierland Shooting Gallery) at Disneyland in California, which, when opened in 1957, used actual BB guns to hit the targets!  In the late eighties, however, this gallery was updated to the same laser-powered system
