Discover what lies just around the riverbend and learn to paint with all the colours of the wind, as Pocahontas and her forest friends let children enjoy the thrill of the outdoors and the spirit of exploration, at this settlement of traditional Indian tepees! HistoryThe area occupied by Pocahontas Indian Village was previously used as the entrance and queue area of Pocahontas Indian Canoes, guided canoe tours around the Rivers of the Far West. Take a look at the area between the playground and the river and you can still see the canoe boarding point - a long, thin, channel leading out into the river. Pocahontas Indian Village was added at the same time as construction work took place at The Chaparral Theater, to add a roof above the seating and, later, the stage. With "Pocahontas: Le Spectacle" playing at the theatre between 1996 and 1999, this created a true Pocahontas "mini-land" in this corner of Frontierland. |
