Fun Facts

Peter Pan's Flight in Paris is the only version to seat at least 4 guests per flying pirate ship, rather than the standard 2.  It also has the longest ride time - 3 minutes compared to around 2:30.

The classic Imagineering trick of forced perspective is used to great effect on the aerial London and Never Land scenes, with the landscape's vertical height elongated to make it appear further away and the buildings of London much taller than they truly are.

Ride testing a major part of the creation of any Disney attraction, usually taking anywhere up to 6 months to complete.  On one occasion, a team of Imagineers became stuck 8 feet up in the air on-board their flying pirate ship, unable to get down since an emergency ladder had yet to be installed! History

Incredibly, for such a complex ride, Peter Pan's Flight was one of the opening day attractions at Disneyland California in 1955.  In 1983, along with much of Fantasyland, Peter Pan's Flight in California underwent a drastic overhaul.  Like other dark rides in the area, this included the addition of the main character - here Peter Pan - to the show scenes.  Previously, guests would have experienced the attraction as if they were Peter himself.

Peter Pan's Flight in Paris was actually modelled more on the 1955/1983 Disneyland original than the later 1971 Magic Kingdom and 1983 Tokyo Disneyland versions, with no moving ramp in the boarding area and more similar scenes to the California edition.

The exterior design is reminiscent of, but certainly not identical to, the original Disneyland attraction.  The clock tower is the most familiar element, whilst details such as the Pirate Ship and Crocodile weathervanes have been replicated fully.

In July 2004, the attraction underwent a small redesign of its queue and boarding areas.  The final section of the queue was split in half to finally provide a covered Fastpass line, new signage and wait time boards were added, and, most importantly, hydraulic air gates were added to the loading platform.  This theoretically doubled the hourly capacity of the attraction, allowing two vehicles to safely board at once, with usual set-up giving one to Fastpass guests and one to the normal queue.
