A stormy sea and a dramatic shipwreck brought the Robinson family to shore, where they have adapted to their new life on Adventure Isle in a spectacular way.

What looks like an ordinary tree has been transformed into a beautiful tree-top home for the entire family, with a water system, kitchen, bedroom, lively music organ and intriguing details at every turn.

Fun Facts & Footnotes

An updated and massively expanded version of the original Swiss Family Treehouses at Disneyland California, Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland.  The first of which, at Disneyland California,  opened in November 1962 after the release of Walt Disney's Swiss Family Robinson live-action film.  In June 1999, the Californian treehouse was transformed into Tarzan's Treehouse, with more interactivity for guests.

The tree is a breed known affectionately as "Disneyodendren" by the Walt Disney Imagineers, since it was constructed from scratch for the park's opening in 1992.  Towering high above the real, lush vegetation of Adventure Isle, this Disneyodendren is often compared to Animal Kingdom's much larger Tree of Life, which opened with the Floridian park six years later, in 1998.
