Disneyland Paris has launched its official 20th Anniversary summer offer, in fact combining two deals in one: “Free For Kids Under 12″ and “Save up to 30%”. The extension of the “Kids Under 7″ offer to all children under 12 will be a popular move for families, whilst everyone else can still save up to 30%, depending on hotel and chosen dates — a guide to the discounts available can be found on our Special Offers page.

Arrival dates are available right up to the end of the current season on 7th November 2012. You’ll need to book by 28th June for the whole deal, including Kids Free, or by 23rd July 2012 for the up to 30% discount. But remember, that offer is only available in certain Disney Hotels per arrival date, so when the deal’s gone, it’s gone.

As well as longer opening hours and the culmination of months of refurbishments, this 20th Anniversary summer will be the first summer of Disney Dreams! — bound to be an unforgettable season of late nights and spectacular sights.

We’ve got a double Disneyland Paris Calendar update for you today that has most likely been eagerly awaited by those planning summer trips to the magic.

First up, our Monthly Park Hours pages have now been updated with the latest park opening times up to the end of June 2012. And, as we predicted, it’s a clean sweep of 11pm closing times for Disneyland Park. You have to give Disneyland Paris credit for this: after years of the park not giving guests the full “Magic Kingdom” experience, they haven’t cautiously edged toward later hours but jumped right in, with Disney Dreams! providing the draw. On weekdays, giving a full 2 to 4 hours longer in the park. Incredible.

Meanwhile, we’ve also got the first Closures & Refurbishments for July — a grand total of three. That includes a fairly lengthy refurbishment for Indiana Jones et le Temple du Péril and, unfortunately, the prolonged closure of River Rogue Keelboats. At the moment, Captain EO is also simply marked as “closed”, giving little hope of that rumoured temporary re-(re-?)opening for the busy summer season.

It’s funny to think that as I stood there, on that cold night of 31st March, with the new camera bought especially for the occasion, ready to press “record”, over 50,000 other people would soon end up seeing the same view of this spectacular new show’s grand premiere. Hopefully you enjoyed it just as much as we did. And if you haven’t enjoyed or planned a trip to see the show for yourself, let’s just say one thing: our video may now be “50,000 views” good, but nothing beats seeing the show with your own eyes.

What a Dream this year is turning out to be. We’ve already seen the previously unheard-of appearance of 11pm closing times in April, and now it looks like that extended hour is going to be norm from Thursday, 24th May right through to the end of summer.

Hours for Disneyland Park remain fixed at that hour for the final week of May and the first half of June. Since evenings will be at their lightest here (important due to the new nighttime spectacular), and the park normally opens until 11pm anyway in July, we’d say it’s very likely these hours will now stick right through summer.

Once again, that’s an incredible step-change in the annual calendar of the resort, evening out the troughs and peaks of “low” and “high” season into a more-or-less even calendar, so you get the “full Disney experience” on any day of the year. It’s going to be fascinating to see how this pays off in terms of attendance and finances.

The major update of our popular Restaurant Menus pages has continued over the past few days. After the first five updated menus, we’re now pleased to add a further TEN to the list, including some big Table Service dish updates that can take a long time to translate into plain text. From Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe to Adventureland and from Counter Service to Table Service, we’ve tried to keep the list of locations as varied as possible:

Along with five and a half hours of HD video (and counting) of the 20th Anniversary events, we took the chance during two trips earlier this month to walk the entire resort from end to end, through every land, park and hotel, collecting new photos of each and every menu for a major update of our popular Restaurant Menus section.

From La Cantina to Colonel Hathi’s Pizza Outpost, The Old Mill to Disney Blockbuster Café, that amounts to over 110 photos covering every menu that we’ll now use to update our pages with the latest meals and prices.

But that’s not all — before starting on this mammoth update, we’ve given the menu pages themselves a design update, their first since we launched the service after popular demand in November 2010. Now, the pages aim to offer more information about each venue beyond the menu itself, including useful information such as the location, service type, general cuisine offered, price range, meals available (breakfast, lunch or dinner), whether reservations are accepted and even a brief description of the restaurant’s theme or story.

The Meal Plans information is also completely revised, now providing details of both the Half Board and Full Board (Lunch or Dinner) availability at each restaurant. This information will be added to each page as we update the menus to their latest version, making our Restaurant Menus guides by far the most up-to-date, accessible and comprehensive available.
